I understand why the Republican party wants to ignore him. But why is the media ignoring him? They're not all Republican propaganda services like Fox News that don't want a Libertarian in Republican's clothing rocking the boat.

It sickens me that this blackout coverage is costing Paul mainstream voters when it should be rocketing him to the top of the polls.

Too bad the mass public doesn't know this because of the mainstream media blackout of him. His numbers and support would soar if they thought he had a chance.

Awesome, is there a site with that listed, id love to email it to some people.

@RP straw poll numbers: all that means is a lot of Ron Paul supporters show up for those events. He's actually polling at around 8%.

Jesus H Christ you're a moron!

EVERY LAST ONE of the sources on that page that make up that polling data are the established MEDIA, including Fox news!

What in the FUCK do you think makes them the authoritative source of what the american people are "Actually" going to vote for??!?

:censure:

So you believe they are all conspiring to come up with a consistent set of fake poll numbers?

Do you have any other sources of poll data that you believe to be more accurate? Random sample, offline polls preferably (otherwise they're highly self-selecting).

Of course, but it's not the mysterious conspiracy you make it out to be... RP is simply against the status quo; And these very agencies make SHITLOADS of money off the status quo. Do the math... Even if no one is pulling any strings they're not going to favor Paul for state alderman, much less president.

I'd say Netphases' list is pretty good; those are very public, INTERNET straw polls that are not able to be controlled by the media.

Yeah I've heard the theory that RP does too well on internet straw polls b/c his crowd is very active online, but I DO NOT BUY IT. -Sounds like a bunch of media bullshit to me... Here's why:

Think about Libertarians; are they hip youngsters who spend all day on facebook and dating sites, or are they older people, 40+ years old, who have had the time and experience to appreciate freedom?

Which is more likely to vote for Paul; the youngster or the 40+ year old freedom-loving libertarian?

There is NO WAY IN HELL a bunch of facebook kids are swaying these polls... NONE. Those polls do well for 2 reasons:

1. The media can't censor them.
2. The people really do want Paul's kind of change.

It's interesting Ron Paul's own site uses the same sources you're complaining about... are RP's site admins morons too?
I do not know who runs that site but if it is run by Paul's staff, I would have to say that it is very gracious and unassuming of him to use these numbers instead of the straw polls. Confusing though I'll admit.

Straw polls are usually full of young party activists, aka Ron Poll supporters more than average. Doesn't mean jack shit in the primary/general.

Please explain to me in detail how such a large bunch of "young party activists" understand liberty enough to like Paul?

Kids don't like Paul... He's the opposite of bleeding heart & blind patriotism. He's 100% experience. Only adults who understand how the world really works can appreciate Paul's record.

I find it kind of ironic that you say this stuff... do you remember circa '06-'07 and the first Ron Paul "R3volution?" I do, and believe it or not, I was a Ron Paul supporter back then. He was quite popular around Digg (a site I frequented at the time), whose core demographic was young, college-aged males. Amongst that crowd, he was quite popular.

It certainly felt, at the time, like he had some real momentum going that had a chance to upset the status quo. I liked him, initially, because he was obviously not just another establishment lackey. I liked Kucinich for the same reason. But ultimately, I realized that Paul's philosophy was very narrow and fixed; it seemed all I ever heard him talk about was monetary policy. His answers to most everything else were lacking in nuance and critical understanding, and his worldview seemed limited. That, and his rabid and robotic followers, were what eventually turned me off him.

The situation now seems to me not much different than in '07. He has a small, loyal base of mostly online supporters. He'll have some "money bombs," a bit of hype, and then he'll come in with single digits in the primary election. And that will be that. He's probably not going to run again in 2016.

You guys are free to believe what you want, of course. You can dream about Ron Paul miraculously coming from behind, the dark horse, somehow stealing the win. I mean, it won't happen. But, you know, enjoy your Koolaid, I guess.

I've been an RP supporter since I was in my early 20s. I've known several other people in my age range that support him as well. Maybe we're not a large part of his core demographic, but we do make up a nice portion.

I'm not saying young Paul supporters can't exist; but who in their right mind would think they are the majority?

Ah okay, that makes sense. I don't think we're in the majority you're right.

I was able to meet Ron Paul this past Saturday while working as a volunteer at his rally in MN. It was great to finally hear/see one of his speeches in person and shake his hand.

It was in a college town about a 1.5 hour drive from the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and about 3,000 people showed up. I expected the crowd to be a lot of younger people, but it was a good mix of everyone from college students to senior citizens. Multiple people even said they usually support Democrats. Many veterans of all ages showed up too, they were able to skip the line and given VIP seating in the front rows.
