Got rid of the iPhone

Loved my iPhone and upgraded to 5.0. It sucked, battery ran down like crazy. Bought the new iPhone 4S and was in love with it for the first week. Then the newness wore off and it was just 'another' iphone with a better camera and a bit more speed. Nothing really special. Realized I'd be stuck with it for 2 years if I didn't do something.

Before getting the 4S I was looking really hard at the Samsung Galaxy SII but didn't buy it cause I didn't want the learning curve for the rest of the family (we all buy the same thing). My wife loves her iphone 4S.

One week before my 30 days were up the Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket came out with LTE.

Yup, traded in my 4S (folks at the store looked at me like I was nuts) for the Skyrocket. Got money back since it's only $249 right now. Wish it had the Windows OS on it but after a HUGE learning curve I'm starting to get familiar with Android. Wife stayed with the 4S. Battery time rivals the 4S BUT I just bought an extra battery for the Samsung. Yup, you can actually change batteries! Love the micro SD card expandability...

LOVE THIS PHONE! My LTE speeds depending on location are anywhere between 5 and 48mbps down...

Now, where are the best places to find some .apk's? What apps should I be installing? What are some cool games? LINKS????

Just went back to iPhone after my Droid.

I am not a mac fan boi at all and I couldn't be happier.

I don't want a phone I have to fuck with. I do enough of that shit on the computer. I just want a phone that works.

Biggest thing for me though? App Store + iPod + battery life

Good luck with the 'Android Market' it blooooooooooows.

I'm not an Android fanboy, I just hate Apple and love the customization available to Android.

What exactly don't you like about the Android market? Yeah, there is a TON of shit in there, but good apps are easy to find and as the constant battle of the dev's rages on - paid app functionality becomes free and people constantly strive to fill in a blank, or improve upon whats already there. Apart from 3D games (which are being added/improved constantly), whats the problem?

I have a Blackberry Bold to get my shit done. I am not into touch screen phones.

How to turn that off? Why do I have 20 + recordings of me breathing, or eating, or talking, or smoking? What caused the phone to decide "Hey, it's time to record something!" ?

LOL.... A few of my friends have those phones, but I never tried them. I've always only had an apple phone since the 2g first came out. I got me a white; 4g/s the other day so im stoked. Hope you fix your problems tho

i got the iPhone and would not change it for anything else. I don't say it's the best, because others are probably better, but it's exactly what i need.

I like Samsung galaxy S2 a lot, but it's way to big for me. I need a phone, not a tablet.

Congrats on the new phone, Mike. I was reading about the Razr for a while too, but decided to wait just a little bit more until the Samsung Nexus comes out (which, according to Samsung should be worldwide at the end of this month). It will also have the latest 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS on it, which looks utterly awesome. And the Nexus looks to become the mother of all smartphones - at least for a while until the next big thing comes around... *sigh*

Went from iphone 2g to blackberry bold to iphone 4

The Droids I've seen just don't impress me and Blackberry blows. Honestly, there still is just way more support for iOS than anything else. Also I think the look and feel of the iPhone trumps everything else. I'm not an Apple person, but they've nailed it when it comes to the phone.

BTW, there is a little trick you can use to hide Newstand in iOS 5. Just google it.

I still have my old ass iPhone 3GS running on iOS 3.0.. works perfectly. Don't feel the need to upgrade and no new phone has wow'd me as of yet..

Is anyone waiting for Samsung Galaxy Nexus?

It looks nice, but Samsung's non-existent support for the original Galaxy S after the sale has made me hesitant to buy another Samsung. They never fixed the GPS issues or file system lag issues the phone has had since it came out. The XDA-Developers forum has some 3rd party roms and fixes to make it slightly better, but the problems still have not been 100% fixed.

The recent iOS 5.01 update fixed all the issues after I updated to 5.0. Much better experience now.

I'm with you, I bought the wife a 4S a month ago, and while its pretty sweet, I'm not sold.

My plan is up as well, and I wanted to test out her iPhone before I bought one... and I'm not gonna do it. I'm getting the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it should be out in about a week.

Razr looks like its just about the same as the Galaxy Nexus, but I wanted the new version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwhich, and the GN is the only one that has it. Bottom line though, fucking 4G, the iPhone not having it seals the deal for me.

Try being without a blackberry in Indonesia. Not having one is like social leprosy. I wonder if it will be the same when I go to Vietnam.

Ha, you done exactly what I did.

I had the iPhone, and the iPad and got an Android tablet as I was getting into app development on the Android. From there I got a Samsung Galaxy S and have never looked back. I have the iPhone still, I really need to sell it (I hate selling stuff), but it never gets used no more.

I also got a Blackberry Bold for business, and mainly because all my mates are on BBM so it's handy to have.

I think the Bold is much better than the iPhone if you're not to bothered about tonnes of useless apps. Android is a lot better than iPhone and I find the apps are much better too.

Yes its dumb, and many of my indon friends have two phones, just so they don't missed out iphone and android.
