So, I'm going to London for New Years. Never been. What the heck do I do?

Also might visit Dublin while I'm in the area.

Input from Americans, Britfags, and plain old globe trotters would be appreciated.

English boobs in exchange for your precious time:

Lemme get this straight... You posted pictures of those fine english asses and then felt the need to ask US what to do in london? Hmm?

Oh, Right... Forgot we're all gay here for a moment. Fuck.

I haven't been there for new years but london has one hell of a party scene there where they put on a fireworks show above/behind the london bridge... Bet that will be quite a party... Wouldn't mind seeing that me ownself.

When are you going to been UK in this month?

lol what? I'm arriving on the 28th. Haven't decided how long I wanna stay yet. Probably like a week.

That sounds like fun. I'd also be interested to hear about any awesome little pubs and stuff like that that I shouldn't miss.

Get involved in some looting, attend a football riot.. There is so much to do in our wonderful city! Just kidding. I'm not keen on the crowds myself but as lukep said, we put on a good NY party in central london. Depending on what music you like there are loads of cool clubs and bars. Any idea where you will be staying? I can probably recommend some places

Avoid Oxford St, and avoid Trafalgar Square like the plague. Unless you want to spend your NYE crushed in a massive inescapable crowd.

Where to go depends on what you'd want from a night out. What sort of people you want to be around? How much money you'd want to spend? What music do you like?

I dunno, both of those places are worth going to once, just avoid them on NYE. And keep your hand in the same pocket as your wallet on Oxford street.

Dick!

As far as music, as mattseh knows, I pretty much just listen to Green Day all day,

As for my favorite activities, pretty much anything I can do while drinking a beer. Including drinking a beer.

There is no beer left in London. The great fire destroyed it all. Sorry.

Go around Brick Lane on a Sunday lunchtime.
Go around Brick Lane any night of the week.

Go to Camden on a Sunday afternoon.

Get the Train from Victoria down to Brighton on the coast for a day
Hire a Boris bike for next to nothing and ride around town.
Check the view from the top of Primrose Hill Park.
Get the riverbus to Greenwich from Westminster Pier.

I'm local, i've appreciated your posts in the past so hit me up if you want more or want a guide for some of it (or someone to call up and get you out of shit when you get lost!)

Really depends what you're looking for, whether you'll be alone, what your budget is etc.

If you have the dough, want to go classy and rub elbows with celebs, Chinawhite is the place to be.

If you want to party and dance like a madman, go Ministry of Sound or Fabric

If you want to barcrawl go to Soho

Beer swiller, huh?

Ditch London, go directly to Dublin and do the pub crawls there 100% of your time. You won't be sorry. (Unless for some sad reason you don't like Guinness, but even people who don't like Guinness outside of ireland LOVE Guinness in Dublin.)

1. Take plenty of condoms with you and visit ANY nightclub

2. Stay in Tottenham, Hackney or Brixton and wait for the next riots

3. Go for Chelsea or Arsenal football game and take some pictures for Rage9

4. Take a Wimbledon - Croydon tram and meet some charming English lady

5. Stand on 0° longitude with your dick pointing to the line (Greenwich Observatory)

6. Take any night bus from Trafalgar Square and wait for strange, amazing, unexpected things to happen (or not)

7. Take a boat or bus tour to see everything withing hour or so

and more.
