Looking for simple designs 2-3 colors. I want the baby-doll style and other women's shit.

I have some experience in this, but I need a fast an easy small order for a freind and there is no way I would recommend cafe press prices to them.

So, if anyone has firsthand knowledge of a us located company that doesnt rape on the price of small orders, let 'er rip.

Call a local printer. You'd be surprised how competitive they can get.

Example: In the DFW metroplex I usually go with Apparel Junction

Women's stuff is a bit more expensive but if you are paying more then $8 a regular T-shirt (with 3 colors), you are spending to much.

Thanks for the advice. Will check them out and call the local boys in the morning.

+1 for local, as long as you are in an area where there are a number of printers, you can get it done locally cheap, wont have shipping costs etc.

Yeah there are plenty of local guys. I just like the idea of clicking and being done but I want to deal with a semi-known quantity. This isn't the Calvin Klein's spring line, but I don't want crap either.

There are a ton of companies out there, my friends run Free Online Merchandise E-Stores | Custom Apparel Stores if you want to take a look and contact them.

As for small orders, don't blame the higher prices. It takes quite of bit of effort to set up, design, burn the screens, print, which is why smaller orders are more expensive.

Most likely, the cheapest way to go will be finding local shop that does screen print/embroidery/discharge/whatever decoration type you need. Look up a few on google and start negotiating between a few that give you the best price, for smaller orders you can negotiate better in person and save on shipping.

Also, before negotiating, ask if they provide blank shirts, which ones they would recommend for a decoration type that you need and what their price is. They usually get it direct and some don't mark up the prices on blank goods much. Ask what the price of the decoration would be if you provide the blank shirts yourself. You can get them relatively cheap these days - just google "blank apparel" and go through the first few.

While I agree that it can be cheaper to get the blank shirts yourself and then provide them, to me its saving money at the wrong end.

At that point he'll be spending time and effort trying to find a 'better' price online, deal with the supplier, wait for the order to come in and then has to take them to the local printer. Therefore introducing another possible point of failure.

All of that to save, let's say $50 on a small order of shirts. Even if he saves $200 - how much is HIS time worth?

A lot of times folks try to save at the wrong end and value their time as 0. Don't be one of those... ;)

All you need to do is find an example of the tee you like and go directly to the manufacturer. ie; Alstyle, American Apparel (ghey), etc..

Apply for an account and then you'll have access to all their styles, colors and stock count.

Depending on volume.. you can get the best quality tees from $3-9 << once again based on volume.

How are you printing these? Is this just for like a homo erotic weekend "we need tees thing" or something long term?

He wanted a cheaper option, I provided one. Some people spend days looking through newspapers to find 50c discount on bread and 45c on butter, who knows what other people's time is worth if they don't specify. If you need it to be cheaper, spend time, if you need it to be convenient, pay extra for convenience. I personally, if I didn't know the people in the industry, would just contact a few local printers with decent side shops, get quotes, ask for samples, negotiate between the top 2-3 and go with it.

@OP, if you want, send me the order details and city/state, I can get you a quote.
