The next year/eighteen months I am going to be travel. I'd like to stay in reasonable shape so I am looking for some suggestions on how do so while traveling.

My current exercise routine is:

Stronglifts 5x5 routine 4-5 times a week + some additional ab exercises
Run 2 miles 3-4 times a week
Play netball one time a week

I should still be able to do my running without too much trouble, I am more concerned about the strength stuff.

What I am currently thinking is that I'll take a skipping rope (for cardio when I'm not able to run) and then also a resistance band for some strength stuff and just use my body weight for the rest of the strength exercise (e.g rather than squatting 5x5 with 70kg I will just do 100 jump squats or something similar).

Anybody got any suggestions on what other stuff might be a good idea to have? It can't weight a lot or take up much room (in fact I am thinking about ditching the skipping rope if I can just use the resistance band to skip with). What other exercises should I look into?

I do this workout that goes:
Burpees
Hindu Squats
Hindu Pushups
(add pullups if you have a bar, but I typically don't have one)

I just rotate through the 3 exercises (10 reps or so apiece--superset them) and try to do as many rotations as I can in 30 minutes.

It may seem simple, but it will kick your ass. I always do it at least once a week, and it's great for on-the-go as you can do it literally anywhere with enough space to be in pushup position.

Some good recommendations here too: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/prison-workout/

+1 for resistance bands. Also, get a pair with straps. Adds a lot of options.

Also, check out bodyweight culture forum. They have a ton of innovative bodyweight exercises.

I own a "Pilates Door Gym." It cost me like £6 at TK Maxx and I do Tabata training, as press ups, sit ups, squats and then do rowing and flys on the Door Gym. I also have some resistance bands that I like to use.

Tabata WILL kill you. 5 rounds of 8 Tabata, with a 1 minute break in between = 24 minutes. You'll be recovering the a few days after the first time, but within a few weeks you'll be ready for an Ironman.

A friend of mine swears by gymnastic rings. Here is some of his stuff on youtube, he told me you can literally use these anywhere:

I use "pocket trainer" on my BB, set it on "home" select what equipment you have around and it sets you a plan every time you use it.

This is relevant to my Interest. I soak up information about body building, equipment, and what not.
I have never lost a pound. Only gained.
Damn....
Even bought P90x when I could have downloaded it from piratebay, just to motivate myself.
My door pull up bar that I bought off woot is still unpacked.

Fuck.. I will start from tomorrow.
Oh shit.

Beach Body's Insanity workout seems ideal for those who travel. Nothing is needed except a DVD player and a little bit of space to work out in. I do my workouts in a room that is approximately 6 ft wide and 10 feet long and have plenty of room to get my routine done daily.

I have some 3 band resistance bands that are really good. Each band is 30 lbs. so you can get from 30-90 lbs. of resistance. I got them at my local Sports Authority for about $30.

They look just like these but I don't think this is the same brand (mine don't say the brand name on the handles so I can't recommend the brand...nice work marketing team).

Squat, Bench, Deadlift. Use Emp's method of sand-filled duffel bags. Whatever works. And I agree with another fitness competition. Someone stole the iPod I won from the first one.
