Retire? WTF? Dude is 24 years old, tons of talent, loses a close decision against a tough test in which everybody is crying robbery.
They will probably rematch, but I'm still gonna catch this fight.
Unbeaten is overrated, and there's too much emphasis in it in boxing. Marciano was undefeated, but his legacy is peanuts compared to Ali and I think only a handful of people can name 5 of his opponents without resorting to Google.
Mayweather's unbeaten streak will still never stack up to the legacy's of Sugar Ray Leonard who constantly fought the very best without question. While I don't think Floyd has openly "ducked" anybody, he sure as hell picks his fights well. This is coming from a big Floyd fan too. But with Ray Leonard, Hagler, Duran, Hearns etc. they'd fucking fight anybody which is what's missing from boxing today.
