What's with the "Happy Holidays" shit?

Fuck all y'all, and Merry Christmas! Now I'm off to test out the new BBQ Santa brought me.

Fuck you and your Santa and your Christmas. I'm no christian, so Happy Holidays!

Christmas is a Pagan holiday, not Christian. I know Christians don't believe that, but fuck 'em.

And I'm the furthest thing from Christian. My mom railed against organized religion more than enough when I was little to scare me away from it. Whew, she was pissed the minister in town had such a nice house. :)

I don't care though. When I was 5, Santa came down our imaginary chimney, and left presents under my tree, so Merry Christmas!

WRONG

Christmas is a christian holiday, but to get all those people to convert the missionairies thought they celebrate it on the roman winter solstice fest, so it would be easier to understand everything. only rant about something if you actually have the knowledge to

What's wrong with saying Happy Holidays? I thought it was wrong to impose your belief down somebody else's throat.

I kid.

Why does it matter what people say to you? They obviously say whatever is most comfortable for them. Last time I checked nobody is forcing you NOT to say merry christmas, so if anything you're the asshole for insisting people do say merry christmas.

Merry fuck you all day. <3.

Why does it matter what people say to you?

Because it's obvious they're doing it for no other reason than to be politically correct, and not to offend anyone.

So fuck it, nobody is allowed to say "Ramadan" anymore. It's now called "Happy Mecca Month!". I mean, if we're going to be doing this whole politically correct thing so as not to offend anyone, then all cultures have to take part in it, not just one. That's only fair.

Take it this way..
Happy Holidays for the New year and Boxer Day and such.
Merry Christmas for Christmas

I don't think too many Christians say Happy Holidays anyway..
So, just screw the haters..

Merry Christmas to you and everyone else.

gooddeal killed Santa?

Have you ever considered that maybe people say Happy Holidays because they don't know what religion you are?

I say happy holidays - not because I want to be politically correct but because happy holidays always applies, and the others sometimes don't. I also don't go around saying "happy birthday" to everyone when I know for a fact their birthday was months ago. You know, unless I really want to confuse the other people in the room or something.

:)

All just part of the mass manipulative neutering of America... No Christ in Christmas, no Christ in public schools.. It pisses me off... and I'm not even a Christian.

Hey, for those who can't make the connection.. You're life wouldn't be half as good, if a group of revolutionaries didn't have a strong faith in God, and determine that our personal rights were granted by him rather than man.

I hate it when idiots say it isn't their religion, so Christianity shouldn't be "thrown in their faces" because it's "offensive". Have it your way, see how you like living in a country without God given rights. We're almost there.

Realize it or not, this is one of the main reasons our society is failing, and it wasn't incidental.

I don't know, I guess just the common respect issue irks me. Even if most don't celebrate it, pretty near all 7 billion of us on this planet know that on Dec 24th Santa heads out on his sleigh, and delivers presents while yelling "Merry Christmas!". For example, I'm in a predominantly Buddhist country where Dec 25th doesn't mean anything, but yet everyone is wising me a Merry Christmas, because they have the common decency to respect other cultures and traditions. Yet, I get online and everyone from the West is wishing me a Happy Holidays. WTF?

You know, I have full respect for other cultures, traditions, beliefs, etc. I have no desire to impede on that, and start screaming that they should change their traditions because they're insensitive to my beliefs. It just irks me that the West has been forced to change their cultural norms, but yet, no other culture has changed their norms.

If you want me to change my cultural norms, then you have to change yours too. That's only fair, but I don't see anyone offering up to rename Ramadan, Loy Kratong, Songkran, Diwali, or anything else. So until they do, they're not allowed to bitch, and it's Merry Christmas! :)

Not everyone is celebrating Christ being born during the last week of the
Gregorian calendar, so if you want to be as respectful to other cultures as you can be, imposing your Christian belief upon them might not be the smartest thing to do :)
