Since eliquid is going for it, I'll try too: Anyone know a DMOZ meta editor for hire?

Easiest way to get a link in Dmoz is to become an editor, far quicker than submitting your site for consideration ;)

It doesn't seem they even approve sites anymore. My VERY FIRST website ever got approve in 2007, but now my better sites can't get any love...

I'm sure you all know about this but I'm sharing it in case no one does.

You could also go to the category find an editor and email them asking if they would be willing to add your link. I've done this with a few domains and it's worked every time.

Example, I want a link in Health and fitness certification
1. Go Open Directory - Health: Fitness: Certification
2. Scroll down to the bottom where it says Category editor: ksfiness
3. Click on that person and fill out the form.

You can also go deeper by taking that name and snooping on the web to see if you can find the person. I know everyone here knows how to troll so I'll leave that to you.

I setup 3 projects in Elance looking for a DMOZ editor in my niche. I made one condition clear, get it listed, or you won't get paid. Not a single one got it listed, that is after they accepted the project and said they can do it.

Don't think it worth that much anymore, especially after G stopped using it, but still of value if you intend to sell the site.

I have mixed feelings about DMOZ

only have 1 site listed on it but that site is #1 for its keywords

I think its probably on the same level as being listed in Yahoo directory for $300

Why would anyone give a shit about getting a link from dmoz in 2012? Why would anyone even go to the effort of paying someone to get a link from there in 2012?

It still has a measurable effect. I'm an editor for a specific category and whenever I inject my bullshit, not only do I see improvement within a couple weeks, but sometimes the site title in the SERPs will change to whatever anchor text I use in the DMOZ listing.

just tried this. we'll see if it works

as far as getting ranked in certain categories your sorta fucked. I need a listing in a category controlled by this guy: https://twitter.com/#!/seomike obviously he's not going to budge as it's in his best interest (from a competition standpoint) not to.

Even if it has Zero seo impact, having a DMOZ listing is worth the price for site/domain resale value alone.

I'm sure this is a next to useless plea but if there are any editors reading this from the automotive niche lemme know.
