I Ran Over My Laptop With My Car

I have been traveling for the last week, and well...I ran over my laptop with my car by accident. Here is the lesson of the day... DO NOT PROP UP YOUR LAPTOP CASE AGAINST THE BACK WHEEL OF YOUR CAR AND FORGET ABOUT IT. The laptop is a tank though and the body actually survived, it still turns on and everything, however the screen is completely fucked. Below is a picture..(taken with a cell phone). Oh and my $200 headphones and $100 laser mouse were also crushed.

well at least it is still in working condition, have you connected it to a monitor to make sure it's still working.

And I'm still trying to get my head around how you propped it up in a way that you'd run over it? were you checking your mail and changing your oil at the same time or something?
 
Damn thats a blower man especially about the mouse and headphones.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't pay a computer shop to repair the screen if you're not under warranty anymore.

I was getting quoted at $500-600 to have it fixed. So my broke as said fuck it and I started looking for screens on ebay. And of course they cost about $200 (for a 17in widescreen). And it only took me about 30 minutes to switch the new screen in place of the old one.
 
Just sell it on ebay and give a free ebook called "how to fix your crashed computer in 5 minutes and become an Internet Millionaire".
 
I think I might just buy a MacBook Pro to replace it, that thing was big and bulky anyway...I just think its funny it died getting crushed to bejesus and back.
 
Damn dude, your extremely lucky that your hard drive is ok. So how did you forget about your laptop down there by your tire? Too many bong rips maybe?
 
come on guys, i mean, you've never rested your oakleys very carefully across the drain to the garbage disposal and then accidentally knocked them in and turned on the garbage disposal... pssht... looks like we've got a bunch of holier-than-thou hypocrites around here.

I dropped my cell phone in the toilet many times and had to fight with the insurance guys many time over :-)
I dropped my wallet in the toilet once.

lol yeah on the subject of losing/wrecking electronic gear - i've dropped 2 phones in the toilet, one a girl dropped in a frozen margarita, one i crushed with a rocking chair accidentally, one i threw up against the wall and shattered it, one was stolen by some stupid puerto rican, one i lost at a gig my band played last week, and i think apart from 2 upgrades, those are all the phones i have gone through. :eek:

ps - i actually think i am missing one more that got ruined, can't seem to remember now
