Help me find the fuckers that broke into my house

So today my house was broken into. They bashed a window near my backyard and trashed my entire house. Took an ipad, iphone, $20k+ worth of jewelry, macbook, external hard drive, and other things that held more sentimental value.

The worst part is, they went through all of my sister's shit, found her number, and are texting her from a textplus+ app number.

I actually took the number, signed up for the app, and can see the person's username, location, and age. I tried doing some searches for the username info in google but nothing solid ame up.

They are sending her obscene texts and freaking her out by mentioning very specific things about her life, as if they are or have been following her etc.

It's obvious that they just gathered the info by looking at pictures all around my house, but that doesn't mean they haven't completely fucked with her head.

I really need to catch these douchebags. Unfortunately none of my apple devices were setup for icloud or the findmyiphone app. Stupid, I know. I learned my lesson but i still have to try and find these guys.

I've been digging around and can't seem to find anything on how to track apple devices w/o installing apps before the theft occurs. If anyone has any ideas on how i can make some progress I'd greatly appreciate it.

Call the cops and approach textplus+ to give up info on that user account

Reverse traceroute to that textplus number. File a complaint of harassment at the bottom and move your way up. Let the cyber crime division handle it from there. Do not be afraid to exaggerate your story to them.

Let your sister respond in the affirmative and let them try to "meet" her after some time.

Con the sunnofabiyatches and rape them.
 
Get your sisters phone, or whatever device they are contacting her on and PLAY them back... Get them to meet up with you, be like, why are you guys being so shy...My brother is an asshole, I don't even like him, glad his shit got stolen. Something to lure them in...Like SEX or something... Not even trying to be funny here, you have to take advantage now of them contacting you. You know, to keep them chasing for more info, thus you collecting more yourself about them. Obviously find someone like Dresden to take with you once you find these pricks, just in case!

Text them - "I caught you on motion sensing camera, my brother put your faces on the internet http://www.[legit looking domain name].com/thief"

That should make them genuinely curious, anything you can add the the illusion that you're a bit dumb as well helps(so they don't hesitate clicking the link).

Go to the cops immediately. Say you are an IT expert, explain how you got the thiefs IP address(and that NO ONE but the thiefs had the link), explain in detail(exaggerate a bit like mentioned) about the personal stuff with your sister, say you're worried about her safety etc..

I did use this method before to get a friends facebook back in less than 24 hours. Cops never got involved, just the 'threat of' was enough to get it back. I had used a donkey picture instead.

Don't do anything stupid that might give them a reason to retaliate. Send them to jail? they'll get out soon enough and might choose to come after you or your sister. Even replying to the texts is just going to antagonise them.

Just forget about it, ignore them and move on. They'll get what's coming to them eventually.

Unless of course you're this guy, but I doubt it.

These are not professionals. If they were they wouldn't be doing reckless things like trying to contact your sister. The simple explanation here is probably the correct one. Look to someone your sister already knows.

Her friends have drug problems? What about their friends? Who knew that you had 20k worth of jewelry in the house? It should be a short list. This won't be difficult.

I was thinking the fake/funny pic would of just made them think "ohh hahaha dumb assess that's not even us"... but yes, everything should be taken in consideration that they know where you live and you might want to consider moving if you do end up getting your stuff back.

Do some serious cost/benefit analysis about dealing with these people on your own. In my experience, whenever citizens get involved with criminals it usually ends badly for citizens because they are working off of certain assumptions unconsciously.

For example, if one of the individuals who broke into your house happens to be on paper (parole), you need to think about what that person might be capable of doing in order to avoid going back to prison.

It's entirely possible that they are playing the game on a completely different level than you are.
 
If your in SoCal your shits already long gone. Tell your sister to get a new phone and turn in your insurance claim(you have insurance right?) and just forget about the whole thing. Your not going to be able to do shit. They are not coming back. The Police aint going to do shit. Just put it on the back burner and learn from it. Get better home security. Lock your electronics down. Dont be a mark learn to be prepared.
