If you let the bastards go, they will do it again. Maybe wit someone else, maybe with OP again. If you are always afraid of retaliation, you would never be able to do anything again.

And I am not trying to act stupid or something.
I wouldn't strike back against a gang member, or something who operates as an organization.
But fucking thieves, burglars and home invaders are lowlifes and need to dealt with likewise.

I told him to get a Gun just in case they try to come back. Not to go after them with the Gun.. In most of the states in US, you can shoot back if anybody try to shoot you or break into your house.

If someone shit on you, do you walk away like a gentleman?
If you see a someone trying to Mug an old men or a lady, would you not interfere? Or you would just pretend that nothing is happening...
Come on man. Someone is messing with her sister and you are asking him to ignore it?
So when do you cross a line if someone mess with your sister?
So you only wait to act till your sister is harmed?

I know you are giving an intelligent answer and stuff, but you gotta learn to stand up and be a Man.

Damn man, I'm really sorry to hear that. My advice is to simply let the police take care of it. Give them all the information you have and let them handle it. Really not worth trying to be a big shot and go after them yourself.

So the solution is to escalate every slight, real or perceived to a violent apex, without considering the risks involved or attempting to resolve it through other means first?

This is precisely the kind of attitude that may lead to you being shot, stabbed or beaten to death some day, and is a terrible mindset to pass on to your children.

One of the most valuable gifts human beings have is the ability to find a space in between stimulus and response. As a species, we do not need to react, we can choose to respond instead. There is no percentage in revenge.

You're making the mistaken assumption that you retaliate in a way they can link back to you.

Find them, then wait a year or two to take steps to even things out, if you still feel like it.

I am the politest person you will ever come across.
I don't fight when drunk, I don't even argue.
I don't even insult people on the internet.. :-)
I am the one who will calm people down, and always try to reason.

But if someone pushes me hard enough, or if I see someone abusing a weaker person, or if someone messes with my family, then I have to respond.

Actually, it's not unheard of for them to come back...to get all of your brand new stuff the insurance company bought you.

Get a couple of dobermans for next time.

This is 100% truth.

I would use Zimok's idea and hand over everything to the police at that point. Between the texts, the ip address and them selling shit at the local pawn shop it won't take long for a detective to solve this caper.

Your right. My brother got his house broke into 2 nights in a row while he was there sleeping, so I agree about the dobermans. Its still highly unlikely they will be back unless you antagonize them. If you want to antagonize them I would set up a trap and lure them into range of my 45 but who knows maybe there bringing the Mexican Maffia with them to grab his sister and make her a sex slave so you gotta pick your battles.

Unfortunately, a robbery of this size is small potatoes. IP addresses are great, except no DA would try the case since it's all circumstantial evidence. Unless someone caught them in the act, they are free forever.

Last month my inlaws had their house broken into. They live in SoCal... The guy was seen by a neighbor exiting through the side yard. Neighbor gave a full description of the guy to the police, and they said, "Oh yeah, we know. He always enters through the window, never leaves prints, etc. We suspect him in 75 other break-ins around the county."

Why couldn't they arrest the guy?? They had all circumstantial evidence. Nobody had caught him in the act. They could get a warrant and search his house, but where was the probable cause for a breakin? The only thing they were able to try to charge him with was trespassing.

Fortunately two weeks later the guy was caught breaking into a house, was arrested, and is free on $100,000 bail until trial starts.

2.) Pass the info along to the police. Don't go being a hero. Only retards do that.

3.) Get a dog. A big one. My doors are wide open 24x7, and I don't ever worry about it. I have a few security systems, and they're free, and extremely effective. Well, they eat lots and need lots of love, but other than that, are free. I would imagine at least a few people have thought about breaking into the white man's house, but nobody has ever bothered trying, because they have to get past the dogs first, so they don't bother.

Yeah, a guy I used to work withs sister and brother in law had two dobermans. They woke one night to the dogs barking. The guy took a bat down and found the dogs sitting in the dining room with a guy flat up against the wall. He just said, you might want to just stand there until the police arrive.

A TV channel in my country did one of those shows where they try and track down a parent that kidnapped his own child from the mother, and this is exactly how they nailed his location and took it to the cops. They knew of an email he was using, and obviously he wasn't tech savvy enough to know he shouldn't click shit
