Can an Ex-Con be a Decent Guy and Be Trusted?

Ex-con or upstanding citizen, one way to find out what someone's really like is to lend them some money.

Watch what they do, not what they say. And when someone says 'Trust me', or 'I'm an honest guy', as a basis for getting your co-operation, be on your guard.

PS: If you want to trust that someone will do something for you, consider how much leverage you have on them i.e. what's in it for them. Save your pleading and cajoling.

True and watch what people do and not what they say is one of my favorite lines. I teach that to my kids.

Saying trust me and I'm an honest guy is used car salesman shit. Agreed also.

By saying "used car salesman shit" it's another example of an entire class of people that we automatically think aren't trustworthy. I've had a couple friends as car salesmen, and most of them were upstanding individuals. In fact, more often than not their own customers would lie to them far more often than they'd ever fabricate some "feature" on a '92 daihatsu.

Anyways... Regarding an ex-con ... I guess I'd take the slow & steady approach. I used to have some former drug addicts working for me (one of my previous companies was a "when you're sober come on over" shop), and it was all about letting out just enough slack and trust and responsibility so that they can prove they're up for the challenge, yet you as an owner / manager aren't fuct if something goes wrong.

So yes, were I to hire an ex-con or have an ex-con as a business associate, I'd definitely guard myself from disaster far more regularly than were it an individual without a criminal record. That's not to say that eventually I couldn't learn to trust that individual as a trustworthy individual - but they do have to go the extra mile and put up with the extra scrutiny until they've proved their trustworthiness.

I agree with you Dave. But I usually prove myself using the method you describe here before I tell someone I'm an ex-con. Because 99% of the time if they know I'm an ex-con beofre I prove myself then 99% of the time they have formed their opinion of me.

You are right abou the used car saleman stuff. But dude, I sold cars, houses, money and weed. They are all fraudulanet. Wherever there is mony there is fraud.

Listen man, I really don't care if you like my posts or not, if you have a problem with God and want all mention of him removed from literature, TV and so on, take it up with him, it seems that every time someone mentions God or religion in a post you open your mouth up with an objection, fact is, he is a bigger part of creation, life, education, history than you are or ever will be.

So if you can't handle that, crawl into a hole and die man, maybe this God you hate will have mercy and save your ass from ignorance anyway.

PS: People that generally fear God, don't commit crimes or break the law as much, Du !!!!

I take it that was aimed at me.

You are the one who has brought your God into a couple of unrelated posts, I simply responded to that.

This could go so many directions, but you show me complete 100% Solid proof that the God you seemingly believe in actually exists and I promise not to comment when you refer to him in future as being something absolute and real.

Start a thread on it LH, you are the one bringing it into the topic because you are so fucking sensitive to the existence of a Creator God, even after you acknowledged the other day that the very laws you live under are based on biblical law.

Grow up man !!!

Do you want the USA to take "In God we Trust" off of our currency because of your odd beliefs man ??

AnthonyCea, stfu. You are one annoying cunt, in fact.. blastyourass I relieve you of the annoying cunt status so that I can lay it on AnthonyCea.
I dont care if you believe in god or not but arguing about it on a forum full of affiliate marketing newbs is fucking lame. your posts are lame about god or not and you need to stfu in general.

Myself I would love that fucking shit off our currency.. and I also want "under god" taken out of the pledge of allegiance.. so it can be just like it was originally.. i also want the united states to stop blurring the lines in regards to separation of church and state.. and i'd like to point out to any and everyone.. the united states is in no way whatsoever founded on the christian or any other religion.. look that up if you want..

and also lerchmo is fucking right.. and i said it before.. this shit shouldn't really be on this forum.. theres plenty of other places where you can fucking talk about religious crap all day.. so just like barman did earlier.. i'm done with this thread

I had a guy just out of the clink working for/with me many years back. He was a good guy - a little on the kooky side - but did good work, until one day he decided to just not come in. to this day - I won't judge him for it, I've quit a couple jobs in my younger years in much the same manner.
