It's a ploy by the major oil companies to prove that the sea is still vibrant and alive and therefore drilling poses no hazardous at all. I swear.

Plus it's obvious that they just used a blanket and made it look like a fishing net, so they could put the blame of the fishing industry instead.

Guerilla marketing right thur.

It would look silly if he wouldn't. It's spelled Cthulhu btw.

Yes, I wanted to quote the whole image! :)

Oh, and Cthulu can be spelled many different ways. Our mere mortal minds cannot comprehend the spelling or pronounciation of this glorious and horrific name, however I did find this:

You say kuh-THOO-loo, I say kuh-TOO-loo

So how the heck are you supposed to pronounce Cthulhu's name? Lovecraft said that the language of the Old Ones wasn't compatible with human speech, and so any attempt by man to pronounce Cthulhu's name would at best be an approximation. Lovecraft was inconsistent when suggesting ways to pronounce the name, but the most cited example is "khûl-lhoo," with a guttural vocalization on the first syllable. The most popular pronunciation among Cthulhu fandom seems to be "kuh-THOO-loo."

Yeah, when it's a mile beneath the ocean, fire may not be the best death delivery system available.

NUKES, on the other hand, work just fine.
