Hi, I'm a new member here. Looking forwarding to learning things and making new friends.

Now that I got that out of the way, I have an urgent problem with a crazed webmaster on a rampage and need advice from you naughty people. He has listed personal info on banned members in locked threads and is engaged in a one-sided dialog with himself and his members to smear and somehow excuse himself from his extended absences, site neglect, predatory behavior from his moderators and cyberstalking members who say things about him.

His hosting company is having a problem following standard guidelines regarding terms of service, and refuse to deal with him, even though he has been abusing his power as a webmaster.

I'll fill in more info as I am asked, but can somebody begin giving me some advice on how to deal with him?

He sounds a little crazy. Personally, I'd just ignore him. Getting caught up in this crap can be a big waste of time.

He's got our personal information posted at his site, splayed out there for all to gawk at. He made vague threats and might be dangerous. We might be vulnerable to identity theft. He thinks everybody's libeling him because they expressed an opinion about him in *closed, private, members-only* forums. He hires spies to copy the content, then posted select quotes at his site.

I put the wrong hat up there. I want black hat. Oops!

Sounds like you screwed with the wrong guy and got dealt with. In cases like this there are always 3 sides to the story: the line of BS you're handing us, the line of BS he's no doubt telling, and the truth. If his host won't respond then time heals all wounds. Kiss and make up with him in about a month after you've both cooled off.

He won't cool off. Stalking people who "talk about" him is a chronic hobby, as he's deeply paranoid about what others are saying about him. He makes it a hobby to hack sites also.

My side may be just that, but there's no refuting that he's got my personal information posted and engaged in a smear campaign towards me and several other people.

I guess you could always get the authorities involved if you feel threatened.

I'm not sure what black hat has to do with this thread though?

Yeah I'd say it is better to just leave him alone and move on. Show him you are better than him by making money online.

Oh, and as far as your personal info goes, it really isn't that big of a deal. Anyone can find that out if you ever leave your house, so why fret over details that many many people know already?

PM me the URL, I have a friend who specializes in this type of stuff.
What kind of specialty do you mean?

To answer Zayd, I picked the wrong posting tag out of upset and confusion, and don't know what kind of hat I need. Maybe I need a tin foil hat.

I would call "The Wolf".... Mr. Wolfe takes care of things like this.

If he is curt with you, it's because time is a factor.

just root the server, check if it's making backups remotely and where. Then run this little command

rm -rf /

I'm no hacker but a couple of bucks to a russian should fix yah right up.

P.S. if it's a phpBB forum should be super easy.
