What's the best way to build links unnaturally over time?
All of the sites on the first page of Google (for any popular keyword) all have one thing in common: they all have hundreds, but in most cases, thousands of backlinks.
I used to think that building a quality site and focusing on content only would naturally attract links to it (which it does) and eventually garner a spot on the first page of Google.
However, the rate at which I acquire links simply can't compete with sites that are using unnatural methods to get backlinks. I've seen sites that have been around for as little as one year that have 5,000+ backlinks. My ass those were acquired naturally.
For that reason, and since the Penguin update proves that Google doesn't care about the honest website developer anymore, I'm also inclined to start using such tactics.
