Worth $20 Billion but is a cheap bastard

In the UK we tip, but not like in the US.

If you have a meal out here you'd typically tip somewhere 5-10% of the bill. You'd never tip at a bar though, or anything like that.

I don't tip all the time either, just when I feel I've had exceptionally good service.

Never understood the american "tip everyone for actually doing their job!" kinda thinking. People should be tipped for excellence, not just turning up.

He is indeed a cheap bastard. He even kills animals himself while me being a peasant buying a meat at Tesco. Hopefully he wasn't invited to Pinterest.

Yeah, my friends from China told me there is no tipping there. If there is no tipping in Europe, then why should he tip? Just cause I'm rich I wouldn't be sending it like a mad man. That's how we got rich in the first place by making correct decisions.

Also this is only one side of the story. Regardless, we don't give a fuck.

It's because most jobs that depend on tips (bartender, waitress, delivery guy ,etc) normally earn much, much less than minimum wage. They have a special hourly wage for "tip workers". That's basically why people here tip.

Now, granted that said worker DOES have the option to find a non-tipped based job, but in most cases those tips exceed a minimum wage. So, it's kind of win-win for the worker as well as the company.

You gotta respect the not tip

In the US food service pay is based around a tipping system. I tip a standard 20%, and then up or down based on the server.

If the service sucks I don't tip. How do we know the waiter wasn't a douchebag ? We don't.

He probably brought in far more than £2 of business by just eating there.

Also, the article mentions the owner coming up to him and asking him if he was Mark Zuckerberg. I could see how you could get sick of that, maybe he wasn't the only staff member who did that?

He's a Jew, isn't this par for the course?

OHHHH SNAP

IN B4 Jon banhammers me.
