Anyone Drink Almond Milk?

I don't think so. Why do you say that?

The purpose of milk is to nourish the young. Human babies, like any other mammal, are able to digest milk by synthesizing lactase. But since adults no longer suckle, they stopped synthesizing a useless enzyme. Europeans are actually the ones with the genetic oddity--they are lactose tolerant even into adulthood. Pretty much unprecedented across the entire animal kingdom.

I really dislike milk. However, I do like related dairy products - cheese, cottage cheese, cream cheese, alfredo and cream sauces, ice cream, etc. Just something about drinking liquid from a cow's udder I guess.

And someone above mentioned coconut milk. Now, somedays I enjoy the flavor of coconut and other days I can't stand it. Coconut is one of those weird foods to my taste buds.

I think I'll just stay away from pure milk and get my calcium from other sources.

Hmm... I'm not arguing bc I don't really know, but I do know I drink milk and I digest it. I have absolutely zero problems with milk, so I don't see how we are all lactose intolerant.

So your saying lactase is the only thing that can digest milk? And that adult humans have none of it?

Do you have European ancestry? If so, that would explain why you can digest milk. By breeding cattle, Europeans evolved the tendency to continue to produce lactase into adulthood.

Lactase is the enzyme that metabolizes lactose, which is milk sugar. Without lactase you are unable to digest lactose properly, making you intolerant to lactose. What I'm saying is that humans without European ancestry did not evolve the ability to produce lactase into adulthood. There weren't many domesticated cattle roaming Nigeria 15,000 years ago, so for humans in that part of the world (and many Asian countries) to waste resources producing lactase into adulthood would be wasteful, so it just didn't evolve.

Cats aren't exactly representative of the animal kingdom as a whole...
LOL Wut? I think you may have missed the point. Reread the original post and reply. The point being... animals can and do accept milk from and do suckle from another species.

I've read that humans are the only species that drinks another species' milk.

While I tend to agree with where you're going here I'm going to be the devils advocate and say humans are the only species that do a hell of alot of things, so by it's self it's not a very good argument. Just sayin.

I switched to it but not for anything like that. I just wanted to try it. So I got the vanilla flavored one, tried it with cereal.. best thing ever!

i dont like to recommend any type of milk because the consists of so many chemicals and acids, they are not real milk. With real milk you wont get any type of problem.I go to local diary shop in my area and i take milk directly after taking from cow.It is pure and original and dont give any type of problem ,they are rich source of energy for us.

Almond milk tastes great, but it's got no protein content.

If you want to feed your muscles, stick to regular milk, or thrown in a scoop of protein powder in your almond milk.

Avoid soy milk unless you want your dick to turn into a clit.

Good luck bros.

How could I have missed the point? It was a pretty simple statement.

My point was that cats aren't representative of the animal kingdom as a whole because they are basically a human invention through artificial selection. They were created by the only species on the planet that drinks milk into adulthood, so they naturally were selected to do the same.

Mammals created through natural (not artificial) selection do NOT drink milk into adulthood.

And all this shit about soymilk being bad for you is fucking stupid. Folks in Hong Kong drink 10x the amount of soy milk we do and they're living longer than most countries on the planet.

If lions started drinking rat milk, we'd be horrified and ask what the fuck is going on. But humans drinking cow's milk is somehow supposed to make sense.

just imagine how horrified we'd be if those same lions shat in a toilet. silly humans.

Good point and one I've thought about before...but you don't see too many men in Hong Kong with characteristics associated with high testosterone levels either do you? Could be related, can't really say for sure.

You ever walk your dog and notice how it doesn't need to use toilet paper after it shits? Shits and walks off.

Then you realize no animal has to use TP after shitting. They shit and walk off.

Then you think back to the last time you took a shit...

Humans. We're special.

Something like 90% of soy is genetically modified, I can't believe anyone would come near anything that contains soy.

lolwut. 80-100% of people in the southern hemisphere are lactose intolerant? gtfo buddy.

Vast swaths of cultures in the southern hemisphere survive primarily off of milk. Goat, buffalo, cow, titty.
