Holy bitter. Why is it a cheap publicity stunt? You can't just accept that someone might do something nice for their employees that helped see the company to its more profitable year?

That is good thing he has done,i never seen such a ceo in my life.Because many ceo's pocket the money for themselves and here is giving away his bonus to employees,that gives employees a huge encouragement
CEOs do this sort of shit all the time. Most of them don't publicize it because its self-aggrandizing and the kind of person who does this is often not a self-aggrandizer. The fact that you know about this means that Lenovo issued a press release. They issued a press release because it's a cheap publicity stunt. Get your heads out of your asses everyone.
It's not lessening the kindness of giving people $300 out of your pocket. But let's call it what it is. And who cares whether it's charitable or not? The employees are happy about it, Lenovo's CEO gets to be generous, and Redditors pretend to have enough money to buy a computer. Everybody wins.
I'm not sure anyone did the math. They still think just one cuff link off the rich mans sleeve would solve all their problems, and that he could stop world hunger if he weren't so greedy.
Didn't have to do the math, it said so right in the article. That bonus represents more than a month's salary for most of those people which is pretty damn good. Everything is relative. If my former employer had given me a one month bonus I would have been pretty stoked.
I read somewhere that he is actually going to lose that money as taxes so he gave it away. Not sure if thats true. Either way, its great for employees to get that bonus.
