Word. I pay a bookkeeper (US) on Elance $25/hour. She works about 6-7 hours per year and saves me an insane amount of time...not to mention the taxes I don't have to pay because she knows what the hell she's doing.
Anyone use QuickBooks for their online business?

Does she at least live within driving distance of you, or do you actually trust someone in another state/country to manage that for you?
Quickbooks is the only logical choice. All book keepers know the software and it's so cheap that it isn't worth the switching cost you will incur when you figure out that you need it down the road.
What information do you give her to do her job? Bank statements? Anything else?
I've been looking into Xero but can't really see all the advantages. Any particular reason why you like it so much?
Considering I live overseas/travel 90% of the year, none of my contractors live anywhere near me (unless I'm travling in Asia).
You just have to trust them. Just because they live down the street doesn't mean they know what they're doing or you can monitor them any better.
Yup. Every quarter I send her my bank accounts, payments to contractors (Elance, Odesk etc.) and Paypal. This usually covers any incoming payments so she can itemize them (Adsense CPA etc.).
LOL. The only transactions that matter are dollars in and dollars out. Even you get 100 CPA leads per day that's only one transaction per week into your bank account.
Quickbooks is awesome and I've used it for years. If you need to make invoices and such it's a great business tool. It's fairly simple to use and it offers a lot.
i don't use it to connect to my us banks; if you want to do GAAP accounting, its useful, otherwise not.

If you are making decent money, I signed up for quickbooks last week and dug through some old threads on here, sounds like you can get an intern in your accountant's office to do your book keeping for next to nothing.
You might as well get someone down the street that knows you can come in if shit hits the fan.
