Syrian Rebels Kill Postmen, Why Are We Backing Them?

Well, our involvement there is at least more deserved than it was in Libya.

Scotland let the Lockerbie Bomber free in exchange for a sweetheart deal between Libya and British Petroleum.

I'm normally not a big fan of the grotesque videos one sees online, however watching Quadafi get a shiv shoved up his ass was quite satisfying. Iran's dictator should take note, and also of Hussein.

As far as Arabs go, well they basically have shit in their own bed, and now they have to live in it. They made the decision 800 years ago to choose faith in the Koran over Science, lost their places as the most ascendant human civilization and have been stuck in their own feces ever since. No sign of overthrowing the House of Saud, nor any other arabic royalty. No sign of a widespread belief in human rights, individual rights, nor where they come from. Still for the most part illiterate. Still dependent on foreign skilled labor to get anything accomplished. Still pretty much the same as they've been for 800 years. All that oil lies in that dirt, and all they have to do is passively allow someone else to pump it out for them, and they collect a check.

Still can't manage to create anything of significance. Still focused on the same backwards-ass conflicts they've always had. Blasting an illiterate populace with propaganda through the community loudspeakers 5 times a day, much like North Korea.

So, on a human level, yeah too bad. Sucks to be them. Glad I'm not them. To bad they wake up each morning and choose to be who and what they are, because that means they have to incur the natural consequences of that decision. And no, it's not worth "boots on the ground", however we've got plenty of surplus 500 lb. bombs lying around. Originally they were intended for the Soviets, but eventually they came around and so the munitions are no longer needed for that purpose.

Iran's dictator

I assume you are talking about their president, whose term runs out next year, after which he won't be allowed to run for reelection. Are you aware that Christians and Jews have reserved spots in Iran's parliament?

I'm a Russian so the only take I have from this is: Syria is a Russian ally with a government quite similar to ours (and China, or any repressive regime for that matter). The reason that these regimes are against the Arab Spring is because it makes them uncomfortable that a similar event will occur back home. So enough is enough. Hope Assad is able to hold on. These Islamist insurgents will eventually make things worse for the country in the end (See: Egypt, Lybia).

I WOULD, and DID, support the overthrows in Egypt and Lybia because I naively believed, along with most of the American public, that the outcome would ignite democracy and liberalism (not dipshit American liberalism from the likes of LukeP, but economic and social freedom). However it's fairly obvious that when these things conclude the country is hijacked by the Islamists and repeat the outcomes in places like Iran had in the 1970s.

Wow, the propaganda worked very well on you indeed.

Expressing joy for the ending of a man's life when you don't even know the circumstances is criminally insane. Be ashamed.

For your information, Daffy was just another socialist who cared for his people but went up against the american empire when he tried to leave the USD and use Gold to trade his countries' oil in. The vast majority of his people loved him dearly because he gave them free education, free cars, free internet, and very high standard of living, and pretty much everything else you can shower on the citizenry... He had no real enemies within his own borders...

We just forced a regime change with Daffy like we did alllllllllllllllllllll of these other countries too:

WTF? You sound a bit confused to me sir. Are you thinking of someone else perhaps? I'm an anarchist because of my pretty extreme views on freedom. Liberals make me giggle... I think I may be allergic to them, in fact.

Libya already had both of those things. It was a very socialist country.

A great day when oil will be fully replaced by another stuff, that day I'll scream to all middle west nations:
"GO FUCK YOURSELF"
And finally we don't give a fuck of their deals

Your avatar appears to have two faggots in it, which makes me uncomfortable talking to you directly. It's like taking up a conversation with a stranger at the urinal.

Do you also believe it all started because some guy torched himself in Tunisia? There was no help involved to get these "freedom riots" underway, and the people did it themselves? Not likely.

It wont be replaced in any ones lifetime here. Even if the us did'nt use a single drop of middle east oil it wouldnt matter much.....

Others use it, people we (the us, europe, asia) sell stuff too.... if something happened to that oil supply it would effect the world.. so we will still be stuck in that area keeping the oil flowing for the worldwide market.

If you said.. who cares. let them deal with it.. ok.... they will start building military power (blue water navys) to get there oil.. they will start wars etc..

one way or the other.. that oil is going to flow.
