Anyone else have Quantum? I just upgraded my TV package and Internet. I went from 25/25 to 150down/65up, for only $15 more per month along with the 100 extra channels, 40+ of which are HD.

Not making this post to brag, but to enlighten those that have Fios to call them up and get a quote on an upgrade. Was a no brainer for me at only $15 more per month.
 


Not available by me yet, but I just checked out VZ Broadband and was fuckin SHOCKED at the monthly costs involved for the level of access I would need.

SHOCKED, I say...

Love their cell service (which is pricey enough) but fuck, they think they shit gold boulders with their net services.

Don't need it that bad.

Well, FWIW I've the following:

3 HD DVRs, including multi-room
Every channel Fios offers, including HBO/Starz/etc.
Unlimited local & long distance phone
150 download, 65 upload internet

I pay $185/mo after all taxes and fees.

Cheaper than any other cable provider in my area...

That's actually not bad for that level of service- my Uverse is comparable and doesn't have all channels and the DVR/Multi shit- what kind of bandwidth comes with that plan?

But still, SHOCKED at the fuckin Broadband option here- $120 a month for 30GB data alone before even thinking about TV, etc. Nice service and smoking speed, but fuuuuuuuuu

Be $300 a month to get what I need if my math is right. Hope they bring Fios around here soon, I will seriously consider. Thx for the post.

Fios doesn't have data caps :)
 
I was at 15mbps down/1mbps up for like 6/7 yrs.. Today finally they upgraded our lines (time warner cable road runner) to 50mb down/5mb up:

And that basically will cost $75 a month for the first 12, then $99 thereafter.

Wish we had fios here.

Time Warner needs some competition here in the midwest.. I pay more than for less, $200/mo for internet 30/5, 3 dvrs with no premium channels, and phone. I swear every 6 months the price continues to rise.
 
American pricing on cable / broadband is insane. I am paying $8 for DSL + line rental. You can get fiber in some areas for maybe $60 max.

What can you do that people who have 10-15mb/s cannot? I doubt you're using that shit. Not being a hater, just saying. I got time warner and im on 10mb/s. They do have a 50mb/s plan, but never felt the need for it. Even the few online games I occasionally play, my ping is good.

I can stream like a motherfucker. Those YouTube buffer issues? Nonexistent. I can install a new game off steam in about 3 minutes as opposed to well over an hour. I can Usenet like a motherfucker, too, so games, music, etc. is a shit ton faster on my end.
 
I'm so jealous of you fuckers with great ping times. I never come in at less than 79ms on speedtest.net no matter where I'm checking against.

Yep, I've the same sentiment. I refuse to have Comcast service.
 
I HATE Comcast, but unfortunately they are the ONLY option where I live. I do have their business class internet though, and have heard that the service is 10x better than consumer though. So far no issues. I pay around $100 a month and get 40 Down / 10 Up. I do live in the middle of jack and shit.
