lol, didn't you say that last sunday bro? Stop procrastinating. You could have been out by now.

They still require quite a bit of metal to em, from my understanding there are only a few epoxies out there that could handle 22lr and even then it's pushing it.

I keep hearing about 3D printers more and more.

I still can't wrap my head around the concept.

I mean, we had a 3D printer at my university and I saw it in action. But it cost like $30,000 (4 years or so ago).

Is it really getting cheaper? And what does it print? Plastic only?

When thinking about 3d printers, consider that their value is not just the components that you can print directly but also the ability to print wax dies for metal casting.

Essentially, you print a wax die then cast it in plaster, use a kiln to melt out the wax and then you can use the cast to produce an item in a metal. Aluminium for instance relatively easy to cast in a garage or small workshop.

The cool thing, imo, is in the sharing of open source designs rather than quality of product produced by the printer itself.

I would print a 3d printer in my 3d printer and then return the first 3d printer and get my money back.

Kind of silly to get so sensational about this nonsense when you can go down to home depot and make a pretty good gun for a couple of bucks.

Did I miss something? Or is this the first constructive Peewee posting in a while?
Well, the problem with the home depot gun is, that you need skills to make it. In an ideal scenario all the skills required to create a "printed" gun is downloading some file and hitting the print button.

Plastic gun would be easier to sneak through security, right? Now there needs to be a printer that can make plastic bullets.

Plastic bullets don't work.
