WASHINGTON—Following the publication of the image above, in which the most cherished figures from multiple religious faiths were depicted engaging in a lascivious sex act of considerable depravity, no one was murdered, beaten, or had their lives threatened, sources reported Thursday. The image of the Hebrew prophet Moses high-fiving Jesus Christ as both are having their erect penises vigorously masturbated by Ganesha, all while the Hindu deity anally penetrates Buddha with his fist, reportedly went online at 6:45 p.m. EDT, after which not a single bomb threat was made against the organization responsible, nor did the person who created the cartoon go home fearing for his life in any way. Though some members of the Jewish, Christian, Hindu, and Buddhist faiths were reportedly offended by the image, sources confirmed that upon seeing it, they simply shook their heads, rolled their eyes, and continued on with their day.

False equivalency. For one, we're talking about modern times. Two, I don't remember any religious wars being started over cartoons or images alone in the history of Christianity.

There are always a few crazy loners in any religion that will want to kill over stupid shit like cartoons.. but their numbers have always been extremely low compared to the huge numbers of Islamic people thinking the same way.

The problem is people thinking that they have the right to be offended, and then force others unto their bidding.

If your solution to me saying that your beliefs are wrong or ridiculous is to become massively insecure and lash out, whether through laws or violence, you are massively insecure about your beliefs, or have been sucked into a meme that demands that it be spread. I could find plenty of quotes from the old testament about killing the unbelievers etc. If anybody claims that parts of their "holy book" are out of date, it seems the book is not so holy.

You choose your religion, it is right that you should be subject of mockery of it.

There were lots of protests over Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ and a theater got firebombed during a showing of it, though nobody died.

How many embassies got nailed over that one?

So what you're pointing out is that the embassy attacks may in part had to due with resentment people there already had towards the US government, whereas the movie theater attack had more to do with just outrage over a movie?

Does Christianity condone such an action? Not old testament but under what a Christian considers the New Covenant?

Does Islam condone the actions taken?

Not getting into religious debate, only advising you to consider the scale while making this argument. Considering a scale of 1 to 100, how does each side differ
