Has the cell-phone race ever been this POLARIZED?!

Correct. But it's a two way street, which I'm assuming you'll find out when you buy the iPhone 5 and half of your apps and games have black letterboxing on both sides of your shiny new 4-inch screen that Android first enjoyed in 2009.

On one hand, uniformity and reliability. On the other hand, flexibility and options. Try both, choose which one you like, and stop pretending one is hands-down better than the other. They're both good, but good for different people with different preferences. It's the beautiful part of the iOS vs Android battle... one of them doesn't have to win, and in fact, that's not what we should want.

If the developer is serious, they will quickly adapt to the new changes. You are talking as if Android phones have one universal phone screen size. I am fucking mad every time I create a android app, not sure how will it work on some XYZ android phone. So your argument is worthless when it comes to screen size.

Its not like android is superior to iOS and I highly doubt they will be able to match up even with the latest jelly bean.

In fact, I don't want google to ever dominate the mobile space. you already handed over your deskptop behavioral data to google now they want to own your mobile soul.

If you want to get targeted as black, indian, caucasian or jew, sure switch to android. Very soon you will be blasted off with behavorial ads and calling you out by ethnicity. Do No Evil my ass

The ad is funny but I think it's a horrible idea. It's one thing to poke fun at the Iphone, but this one pretty much pokes fun at the actual Iphone consumer.

Not a great way to convince Iphone users to switch to a galaxy S3.

I don't think they are trying to convert the stereotypical Apple "fanboy" who waits in line for their phone. They are trying to convert the people who aren't loyal to any brand, and are looking to make a smartphone decision pretty soon.

Samsung made a similar Galaxy S II commercial around the time of the iPhone 4S release. I doubt they made a sequel to a failed ad campaign.

lol @ even trying to compare iPhone to other smartphones when iPhone revolutionized the category so dramatically it carved out an entirely new category. There are iPhones and then there are smartphones. That's part of the whole genius IMO and why it's impossible to talk iSheeple out of wanting one based on a specs argument alone. It's got almost nothing to do with specs. iPhone will continue to sell like fucking crack.

As for the Samsung ads, I've only read about them and haven't watched them, but they seem to alienate the consumer and would be on-the-fence types (who are almost surely leaning towards the iPhone). Seems like it'd back fire like their Facebook ad campaign did.

You're an idiot. iPhone didn't revolutionize shit. It just gave the herd a brand. There were fully touchscreen smartphones and tablets that came out years before iPhone but Apple just brough the Cult and Marketing into it.

Dammit, this man speaks the truth.

I just noticed age and sex targeting abilities in my Adwords account. I guess this is how they make sure the facebook ad network doesn't take over. It is scary to think how much other interest and demographic data they can extrapolate based on our browsing habits.

If you want to disregard specs, then fine. Let's talk about software then. Android Jelly Bean with Google Now is miles ahead of the current iOS. No denying that.

I personally don't give a shit about spec, software or anything else apart from the fact that Apple are cool as fuck, their shit does exactly what I need it to, their designs are insanely beautiful, clean, light and most of all their shit is extremely user friendly.

You fucking Samsung bums or whatever the fuck phone you're trying to convince the world to have, spec and features isn't good enough because the majority of the population only use their phones for the basic shit, shit that they can all do.

The buying decision is based on Price, brand and design, features are on the bottom of the list because everyone already knows that any phone can pretty much do what they want.

Then everyone got jealous and wanted a piece. Didn't have the forethought, sense and creativity to make it happen like Apple did.

Where were smart phones before Apple?
In the fucking stone age, thats where.

Call them all you want, without the iPhone you would still be using shit arse Blackberrys.

Apple have sold over 85 million iPhones alone, within just the US. How the fuck is that not revolutionary!!??

I think it just comes down to which one you like to use best. I've owned both a 4s and a samsung. The 4s lasted wayyyy longer and was better to use I found. Screen was nice on the samsung though

I don't have a phone and don't know much about them, but that Samsung advert is quite funny.

Check the timeline. People who make this claim usually weren't paying very close attention to mobile technology trends until after smartphones ousted feature phones as the default consumer purchase.

I was. I've been watching every iteration of a "smartphone" since those shitty HP Jornada's landed on the scene way back in the day. No one did it well and execution is key. Apple took what every other phone had been trying to do and actually made it practical - from start to finish. This includes strong arming AT&T into offering an unlimited data plan for the 1st gen iPhones and so on.

P.S. Door bell just rang, iPhone 5 is here niggas.

I got both s3 and the 4s, 4s is definitely smoother. Other than that they both do the same shit.

I miss my old school Nokia. No dropped calls, battery ran for more than a week, and I could read the screen in the sunlight.

I love how Samsung is playing it up as a war, very clever on their part. I just bought my girl the S3 2 weeks ago and she loves and I'll probably get the iphone 5 in a few weeks assuming I like the look and feel of it (have only seen pictures and heard that it is considerably lighter, which I consider a negative actually.) No reason to hate, they both have cool features though, and the war is just a great marketing tactic for both companies.

I don't get why people argue over phones. I also don't understand why they name the OS or whatever these goofy names: Jelly bean, ice cream cookies, blue bear, wtf? I get a new phone just when my contract is up and that is all. Even then its basically pick whatever I see first. As long as I can call, text, check my mobile LP's and apps then I'm good.

The thing I hate the most is when a couple of my friends or randoms ask me why I didnt update my phone to ice cream cookies OS or get the new phone. I simply don't care, faggot.

ps. the commercial is funny though, loved it.
