Dear Phaggot,
You may have realized we took down our website last week in preparation for a big launch. We’ve obviously been working very hard since several months now to prepare a big surprise for you today. You will be hearing the buzz on this announcement over the news very soon, but I wanted you to hear the update from us directly.
Yahoo! (NASDAQ:YHOO) and Media.net today announced a long-term agreement to launch Yahoo! Bing Network Contextual Ads program. This new program aims to provide web publishers with a powerful and effective new solution for earning advertising revenue. Publishers can now use the Media.net platform to create and customize ad units that display relevant text ads from across the Yahoo! Bing Network. We believe that Yahoo! holds a key leadership position in online advertising and teaming up with them allows Media.net to offer web publishers with a solution that generates additional revenue for them and provides customization, control and flexibility that they would like.
Needless to say, we're pretty psyched! Media.net, Yahoo! and our publishers have some incredible opportunities ahead of us. This new program will fully replace our current publisher offerings. As an existing publisher, you will be grandfathered into the new program automatically and are not required to sign up separately. We will be migrating your account to the new program over the next 30 to 60 days, and I’ll guide your through the process. At this point, please ensure that you DO NOT request an invite for Yahoo! Bing Network Contextual Ads program.
Here’s a quick quote from Yahoo! on this new announcement: "Since its inception, Media.net has invested tremendous resources – people, capital and time – to build what Yahoo! identifies to be a terrific monetization solution for web publishers,” said Al Echamendi, Vice President, Business Development, Yahoo!. “During our evaluation process, we recognized Media.net as a technology and innovation leader, with a strong management team that has a significant business track record and industry experience."
What happens to my existing account and ad tags?
1. All current ad serving and reporting for your sites will remain uninterrupted
2. You will still be able to access your account at http://publisher.media.net directly.
3. You can continue to create new ad tags for existing approved sites. However, in the interim we will not be approving any new sites
4. Your payouts will be processed as per our regular payout cycles
We hope to have your continued support in our efforts to build better technology and partnerships to deliver great value to our publishers. In the meantime, please feel free to email me or contact support@media.net for anything that you may require on your accounts.
