Mechanical Keyboards - Anybody else uses them?

Yeah, got the black widow because it's the only one I could actually purchase in person anywhere close to me.

My WPM has gone up about 10-15 because I don't have to bottom out the keys. Still learning to tap lighter, though.

Oh, and the sound ... mmm ... #coderboner

I have this, it has cherry mx blues. I went tenkeyless to keep my mouse closer to my keyboard.

Easily the best computer purchase I've made in years. Anyone who says mechanical keyboards are a waste have never used one (they're admittedly not that easy to find, the only ones you'll find in stores are for gamers usually). They're honestly fun to type on, your hands get less tired, you type more accurately, and you type more quickly.

I want a mechanical keyboard but I need an ergonomic one or else my wrists get all kinds of messed up. Not exactly willing to drop $300 on this though:

Also has the silent one too for those who dont like the clickityclack

I was skeptical at first. I'm not really sure they make you really any more accurate (my initial tests said no), I guess I could do another speed / accuracy test like I did when I first got it vs other keyboards.

However, it's just way better to type on than a regular keyboard by leaps and bounds. I would defiantly buy another mechanical keyboard in a heart beat. You wouldn't believe how much better you hands feel after a day of typing vs a regular keyboard.

Mine use to as well on my old shitty keyboards, so I switched to and ergo to fix it. I was skeptical going to a mechanical, I thought my wrists would go to shit again. After the switch though, all is right in the world. It's probably because it's easier to type on, I would give a mechanical one a go for a couple weeks and see how you like it.

hmm, what's a good cheap one in your experience? I don't wanna drop $100 on a razer just to find out it destroys wrists lol

Honestly the cheapest you're going to find with cherry switches is like, $70-$90. They just aren't cheap keyboards.

You really need to figure out what kind of switch you want. I have browns and love em but here are many out there.

Also if you're worried about price, hit Best Buy, pick up one of the Razor gaming ones and then if you don't like it return it.
