Oh man, I've been having such vivid dreams since doing it. Just had one where I kept going gradually higher and higher on a plane until I was on top of the fucking earth, looking down at a hurricane that was blasting light at me.

Guys. Oh my God that felt

SO

FUCKING

GOOD.

It still feels so good right now. Oh my God it's such an amazing feeling, I can't even describe it. It's like I'm having sex with an angel and I'm orgasming. Oh my goodness. I have never ever felt so good in my life. It's unearthly, and the funny thing is I knew I was at the brink of much, much bigger pleasure. Try this shit but be careful and take it slow (not like this idiot who is doing 30 mins at the advanced level daily).

was always my favorite theme. Seemed almost unfitting for barbarians to have such a nice one.

Its amazing how good you can feel when you cut off the oxygen to the brain and kill your brain cells ehhh????

Why not just go the full distance and hang yourself while masturbating?? (Authoerotic Asphyxiation)

"The carotid arteries (on either side of the neck) carry oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the brain. When these are compressed, as in strangulation or hanging, the sudden loss of oxygen to the brain and the accumulation of carbon dioxide can increase feelings of giddiness, lightheadness, and pleasure, all of which will heighten masturbatory sensations."

Author George Shuman describes the effect as such, "When the brain is deprived of oxygen, it induces a lucid, semi-hallucinogenic state called hypoxia. Combined with orgasm, the rush is said to be no less powerful than cocaine, and highly addictive."

Crazy fucking Yogis.

No offense mate, but if this was remotely true - I would have experienced the sensation I felt WHILE meditating, not after sleeping 4 hours later. It's impossible to hold your breath long enough to cause brain damage. First of all you will pass out (assume you even have the control to make it to that point and I assure you, you DO NOT), and when you pass out, guess what - you start breathing again. The body isn't stupid, it has 1 million fail safes generated from billions of years of evolution.

It's just ridiculous to make such a comparison. If that was true, then everyone would be having massive orgasms after holding their breaths for 30-45 seconds (which is what I was doing, tops). George Shuman mentions nothing about meditation, which has a heaping load of benefits longterm.

Side note: I've done coke (ugh - yuk), this was about 10 orders far more pleasurable.

I've been mostly doing just an "observe the breath" meditation where I try to just observe without controlling.

Haven't really worked with specific breathing exercises yet though, other than a 3 in 3 out count or whatever.

Kinda wary about getting into the breath control stuf, probably something to do with my experience with erotic asphyxiation.

Ah, I see. Do you then do mindfulness as well? That's fine I guess, I'm mostly doing meditation for spiritual purposes, therefore controlled breathing kind of fits.

Lol @ experience with erotic asphyxiation, you can't just say that without story time.

not sure what you mean by mindfulness, as a specific kind of meditation? Or do you mean practicing midnfulness during daily life? To me, mindfulness is being aware of your thoughts and staying focused on what's in front of you. Being aware of thoughts as they come into your mind, accepting them, but not elaborating on them.

Is there a specific kind of mindfulness meditation?

Listen to him talk and judge for yourself whether or not it affected his brain:

Yep, there is, it's all over the internet or yoga groups. It's very good stuff (meditation for atheists pretty much). Even my brother who is a hard core atheist got shook.
