@Cshark: Before guerilla replies, you'll be far better equipped to understand him if you read up on free markets first. Ayn Rand would be a good start for you, there's even a movie in the theatre right now that would help you understand it better.

Ayn rand was a novelist, screenwriter and philosopher. She was popular for her philosophies, accepted. She was NOT a marketing geek or business expert so I can only agree to disagree with her views. But, if the businesses world over started following her philosophies, this world would have been a different place. It is possible, but only in your dreams.

We don't go to a vet to treat cancer lol.

Google is in business primarily because of its search engines. For instance, let's say I own a business of artifacts and crafts, and I want to get ranked in Google first page. My competitors are happy SEOing their way to the first page, but I took the shortcut and chose to sign up with Google, and soon started eating in to my competitors market share, leveraging on the trust people place on Google.

Question here is, what my perfect prospects are looking for? They are looking for reputed suppliers, authentic information, and reliable services.

By arm twisting my way in to the Google first page, I got customers who are never looking for my services to start with. Plus, I also didn't have to compete with my prospective rivals, thanks to frequent Google updates that made sure none of my competition was anywhere close to being featured on the first page, Google. I made money, Google made money. Win Win.

But, hey, don't you think the customers should have had access to all the companies info, and he/she would have liked to make his/her own decisions as to who to buy from? Guess that is what every one of us wants when we use Google( or for that matter any search engines) to pull up certain data we need.

Is Google using the status of 'search engine' to affiliate for products/companies that 'pay' to get ranked? It sure is!

This is NOT the purpose of 'or definition of the term we know as ' search engines'.

This is like cheating the masses that visit
google.com everyday to gather accurate and non-partial info. Hence this is not a legit business at all. Correct me if I am wrong, fellas.

And @ Guerilla I am waiting on your submission.

But the question here is, why people fucking use Google? To get true and accurate info, which is non-partial. That's what search engines are supposed to do.

See this is where you're wrong. Google's 'supposed' to make money for its shareholders.

It fucking scares me that you're a self proclaimed 'business major' and don't understand this.

Change your major ASAP.

If people believe that Google has stopped providing the best information in search they will stop using Google. There are other options.

EDIT: Next lawsuit from OP. Suing Facebook as a monopoly on social networks. /facepalm

Allow me to correct you, because I believe half-knowledge is fucking dangerous. Companys are supposed to be making money for its shareholders, true, but that mast be done in a legit, ethical way. Even drug peddlers make money, but why go they get hunted down by the law-enforcement? Aren't they supposed to be making money for themselves?

It's this very attitude as yours that led us to the great economic meltdown, businesses driven by human greed.

If you read between the lines you'd know that you can simply become a reputed company by paying google. Do you support that?

Google has the right to affiliate for its vendors, but that should come with a disclaimer, that Google doesn't vouch for the authenticity of the information presented by the ad, nor does it advocate for the reputation of the services/products presented by the ad.

A trust-able search engine MUST list all the reputed companies somewhere in the first page( may not be the website). Is that a utopian thought, eh?

That will be business. What's happening right now is called 'CON' not business.

Let me again reaffirm that I am not saying Google should become a public utility, no. But when a gun man starts dealing with nuclear bombs, he should come clear and let all and sundry know about his updated 'business' status. That's business, transparent and clear, not ambiguous.

Facebook is a social networking site, not a search engine, and it has never done nothing ambiguous. Plus people don't log on to facebook to find trusted, non-biased info on business/services.

That doesn't make you a senior member/super member I am afraid. So why don't you throw us senior members a party, because you have joined before me you crack head?

Moron.

You talk about trying to sue Google for doing what they want on their own website that morons like you feel they are a part of?

Then you accuse me of post whoring when i have 13 posts in over 2 years of being a member.

Now you talk about senior/super members.

Okay.

Now that looks like a post. Congrats, you know how to post( I was wondering all this while why the fuck this guy can't even post a decent post)

Let's say you own a shop and are in to business of selling sandwich. Along with sandwiches, if you start selling cocaine, that will not be legit. If you don't know why, go join a elementary school closet to your place.

There is a chapter on business ethics, legit business practices, and all the business lawyers are supposed to be reading it. Plus all the business owners are supposed to be knowing it.

If you don't know, it's never too late.
