...but knowin you do NOT know nor have time to learn how to materialize it?

I've been pondering on a particular web service which isn't currently available online, or if it is its hidden somewhere my google skills cant find it...but I'm more than 9988753636% sure I dont have the knowledge to actually make the website supporting the service.

It's miles away from regular HTML page, it should be an active and pretty complex site...

I know that, I know that....but I also know there's no way I personally implement my idea to life unless I get some divine programming enlightenment, which I highly doubt will take place

Or you make enough money doing what you can do to pay someone else to build it.

I think I have the $ to at least do beta

But man I need to get rid of that "keep shit to myself" syndrome...I'm constantly paranoid with someone stealin my ideas...you should see websites I give to coders

I do them all fucked up with blank images and lorem ipsums, never ever did I send the material in actual form, I give it all messed up and rearrange it after they do their part lol

Step 1. Write amazing idea on sticky note

Step 2. Post on wickedfire for advice

Step 3. Go to starbucks and brag to friends about it.

Step 4. Go to Sleep

Step 5. Wake up and repeat

In doing this, you're like someone who spends $3,000 on a security system to protect a car that's worth $1,000. Sure, it won't get stolen, but what a waste of time / energy / money.

I know what you mean and I've been there. But not doing anything is worse than someone copying an idea.

It sounds like you might be too emotionally attached to this idea. Just toss it out there, see if it sticks, and go from there. You won't know if it works until you test it and see how the market responds.

This is one of the easiest ways to limit yourself from making a lot of money. Leveraging the work of other people is hugely important to scale and the risk of somebody stealing your idea is usually very exaggerated, especially for an idea that has a barrier to entry where it is hard for somebody to copy it overnight.

Simple. Make notepad documents for each and every idea you think of, come back to it in a few months/when you've got the time/money - it also acts as a good way to screen out the crappy ones, because you no longer have the freshness of the idea hindering you.

Ideas may be a dime a dozen, but by that metric, I've gotten enough written down for at least a coffee.

Aaaaand another eye opener at the WF...

This forum is therapeutic. Love it. Cant tell you how many times I came here to read some "cut the bullshit get going" shit...always works.

And yeah, the whole "I'll fuck up the site before I give it to coder" shit wasted a lot of my time, especially when I would get the coded version and tried to adjust something I didnt tell coder to do (in order to protect my master plan scheme from the meddling coder) ...

But its always good to put my dumb shit on WF

This forum is much like Joey Diaz says...check yourself before you wreck yourself, big d......you know the rest :D

Aye, definitely... although wasn't it Ice Cube who said that ? :P

On the market place, how much could you sell your idea for?$0

Why would you think it is worth more without execution?

And no, 99.99999% of people couldn't execute a winning idea even if 99.999% of the steps were lined out in idiot proof language.

You spend your time designing out the idea - laying out the plan. Then you hire people to execute that plan while you sit back and receive reports as they come in.

Why are people so paranoid about their ideas getting stolen? Do you honestly think the guy you hire is going to give a shit? He just wants to get paid, if he was an entrepreneur he would code for himself not you. Even if you think your idea is the next Google its probably shit that the coder you hire has seen 10 times over.

The idea isn't so important. Implementation is. Even a bad idea implemented really well can end up successful.
