Okay, so I've been waiting for some good questions in this newbie section and most of them are pretty bad. So, lets bring some life back.

Newbies: Ask me anything!

is SEO really dead?

No. Not at all. Many SEO's would want you to believe it is dead though, because that just means less people to compete with.

SEO is just different. No longer can you slap some cheap content on a site, send a bunch of low quality links to it, and expect it to rank.

Now, you have to actually provide real value, and content people actually want to read. Vague question gets vague answer.

Two questions.

1) so, basically IM is about bait n switch?
2) in this particular case, why would a guy even glance at the linked offer, let alone fill out any info, if he sees that the link he clicks (the link he thought will lead him to a hot hoe) leads him to some blatant ad site?

1) Not really. Internet marketing technically is just about marketing... on the internet. Bringing in traffic. That's it. Product creation and monetization are different beast entirely. Basically, you want to create value, and have a strategy to monetize that value. Then you use IM to bring traffic to that.

2) I've never been in the dating niche nor would I really want to. But, basically, some dude was trying to get laid, and whoever owned that website was taking advantage of the fact he was horny to make some money off him. Horny people aren't very rational while they are horny.

Are MFA sites a thing of the past? I have read that these sites are getting harder and harder to rank, probably most were scrape sites with low quality back links, but if you have lots of unique content and are able to rank in the top spots are there better programs than adsense?

If I want to get into buying traffic, what is the best way to start? Adwords, Facebook, POF, Bing AdCenter? I have read Nicky Cakes newbie guide and want to give buying traffic a go, but I feel like I need to learn a little bit more before going that route. Are CPA networks where most of the money is now being made?

I also have a few ideas for an info product related to computers, mainly an ebook and some tutorial videos. If I want to offer this product to affiliates to market is clickbank a good place to start? I am currently reading ca$hvertising, do you have any other book recommendations for writing decent copy?

Final question for now, where do you find good keywords outside of google's tool?

How the mother fuck does YouTube partna make money? Is that shit PPV?

Because if it ain't...HOW...does that shit convert? I have never even THOUGHT about clicking, let alone acting on any of those offers.

I has to be PPV...rite?

MFA sites can work, but for the time/money getting good content developed and getting it to rank you might as well do something else.

My personal belief is that you should never make a site only for the purpose of making money with adsense (MFA). Instead, you should create something with real value, and monetize other ways. If you want an easy way to monetize, yeah adsense works. But you can make much more money by: creating your own products to sell, selling leads directly to the companies whom would show up on your page through adsense, or referring your users to legitimate products/services in your niche that are focused on providing real value.

Always grab emails. Emailing is one of the best ways to monetize a site, because you can always go back to the List over and over again (if you don't fuck it up). If you provide real value to your list, they will trust you. It is MUCH easier to sell to someone who trust you than it is to sell to someone who doesn't know you (or your brand). I could go on and on about this but this should be enough to answer that question.

It's not letting me link to these, but there are some solid post in the enlightened members section about Media Buying. Read them. Then read them again. Great place to start.

Other than that, I prefer to think of buying traffic in a way that will be rewarding in the long term such as quality guest post on quality blogs (not cheap shit on shit sites), regular links capable of sending referral traffic, ect. I try to build links where the referral traffic alone will pay for the link within 3m-1y. The SEO value & brand recognition are just bonus.

As far as the other paid methods of traffic such as Adwords, Facebook Ads, ect - there is a lot of money to be made there if you do it well. The problem is most people give up before they learn how to effectively spend their money on those efforts. Most people put in some money, and fail miserably their first time. That's normal - It's a learning experience. The trick is to learn from those mistakes. Starting out, I recommend you pay someone to set up your first campaign for you. You can see what they do and why they did it. But, only pay someone who has proven results (someone who does can prove it)

Lots of money to be made in CPA networks, but not recommended for beginners. There are a lot of ways to lose time/money trying to promote CPA offers.

Yes clickbank is a good place to start. But, there are other places to promote ebooks - I can't really be specific here though because the WF mods might not approve.

With clickbank its more about creating a solid landing page more than anything. There are some good resources for creating solid landpages in the Enlightened Members Section.

Look into Theory of Mind. It's all about understanding your target market, and how they think. Once you have a decent understanding of theory of mind.. you can just manually create a list of keywords you think your target market would use.

..? You serious? Maybe you should just sit this one out as far as asking questions. Take some notes

Im serious...I get on youTube to watch music videos or listen to some talk shows...shit usually runs in my background or if i watch it, I already have a reflex to put the pointer right on the X of the video overlay ad...

thanks for the great reply! I will read everything you suggested and think of a few more questions to ask when I don't understand something :)

Would be interested in that offer. I would rather pay some $ to learn than make some big mistakes.

Maybe its onpage. I'm guessing adult cams niche as I've seen you asking about it on BST. Although I am not sure how Google quality guidelines relate to adult.

Has the site improved for any longtail keywords and are you targetting these also. In my experience longtail will give you just as much traffic as "big" keywords with less effort.

Also, how spammy is the link profile and what is domain age like? How does number pages indexed, DA/PA compare with the sites outranking you?

What is your anchor diversity like?

Have you considered other traffic sources? From my small knowledge of the niche the big player is LiveJasmin and I'm guessing most of their traffic is pop under from porn tube sites.

I think adult is a unique area in terms of SEO - GoFuckYourself forums used to be a good source of info for adult webmasters in general.
