What Do You Guys Think Of The New Adsense Ads?

Just saw this abomination, when I went looking around to see why my CTR has been shit the last two days.

Strangely enough, the AdWords I see on the SERPS don't seem to have a giant grey arrow on them that screams DO NOT CLICK ME.

I wonder why that is?

Google always test new ad formats, so this could be one of their split test. If that doesn't perform well, they will shut it down.

That looks almost exactly like a Google Mobile text ad. While they did say they were looking to combine their web and mobile programs after their huge tank last quarter....are you sure you didn't leave a user agent switcher on?

Are you assuming that ad has a low CTR just because you don't like how it looks? FYI some of the ugliest and weird looking ads have the best click throughs. Google typically split tests different ad varieties and this may have come out as a high performer, you never know.
