Guitar thread

Anybody have videos of themselves playing? Be kinda cool to see some real folks jamming (as opposed to professional musicians).

luuuuuulllzzz yes, I just recorded some very rusty guitar playing and drumming. I used to be able to knock out classical gas with no problems, fucking fingers won't cooperate.... as for the drumming portion, bleh, haven't touched them in over a year. double bass pedals and shit need readjusted.

I was impressed with the sound quality of the acoustic though, going the direct-in route. my room environment isn't good for mic'ing, loud ass computer.

Stephen Malkmus = back in the pavement days...some of the most interesting guitar work ever to the trained refined ear.

The fundamentals are the same (chords, scales), but style will depend on who you have teaching you.

As for speed, it's one of the biggest mistakes guitar players make. Only a few people have made sloppy playing work, like Stephen Malkmus, but he's definitely not a classical guitarist.

So you have a 1/4 in on your card? I have wanted to record the direct in + a mic source, but have been a bit to lazy. any input?
