Super High Res Machu Picchu

I've never been there and I know nothing about Machu Picchu, but that place makes no sense at all. Why in the hell would anybody decide to build something in that location. Don't get me wrong, it's probably the one place in South America I'd like to see some day, but it's so odd that any group of people would build something like that in such a remote location.

Ask the aliens that built it.

Not exactly a terrible view to wake up to...

A lot of people believe the Mayans built Machu Pichu as their last hold out/as an attempt to rebuild their empire - the main reason cited is the remote location.

I'm heading there in a couple of months, can't wait to see it.

I think it's Inca, not Mayan, but yeah it looks incredible.

My bad, your completely right - was reading something on Mayan's so my brain obviously fused the two.

Another theory more popular theory is that it was a royal estate. Either way it's probably great that it's located in such a weird location as the Spanish would've certainly fucked it up.
