Publishing gun owner lists does two things:
1. Tells criminals where they can steal guns from.
2. Tells criminals which homes they can break into without fear of getting shot.
Someone should publish a list of congresscritters with CCWs along with their voting records on gun control.

Did anyone actually read the article or did you just read Obama and Guns in the same thread title and immediately start planning your invasion of your local military base to show that you can fuck up our government if need be?
They're just introducing more regulation to make sure only sane, safe people can purchase guns, and so that they can track the movement of those guns from person to person even if done via private sale. It's no different than requiring you to notify the DMV within a week or two of buying a car from someone on Craigslist.
Calm the fuck down.
What a strange reason for a first post, but I came here to say what MR. DCHUK said.
Is reading that hard? Require background checks for guns? Monitor gun sales and penalize those who allow minors access to guns?
HITLER MAO STALIN DON'T YOU GET IT HOLY FUX
First off background checks already exist. Why should minors not have access to guns? Many a family traditions dating back to when guns first were first invented have included children and firearms. Not everyone that owns a gun uses it for evil. They bond around them. They feed the family with them. They teach children the responsibility much greater than any classroom can give them.
Just because you don't want your children to understand and respect firearms does not mean that mine shouldn't or cant.
Minors shouldn't have access to guns just like minors shouldn't have access to booze and cars.
And when they access booze and cars illegally and kill someone, we must change laws to affect everyone else who drinks responsibly!
The problem is the intent.
The reason nobody is passing a handwashing law, (even though it would save twice as many lives as total ban on all firearms), is because nobody sets out to infect other people with the flu. Also, there are no mass sneezings.
As a consequence, people don't feel as threatened by the flu, even though they are twice as likely to die from it as they are from a gunshot wound and it's 100% preventable.

That is just crazy talk. You have no idea how many minors legally and lawfully use and posses guns. They grow up respecting their firearms and using them in a lawful way. The kids that are sheltered from guns are the ones that go over to the neighbors house and start screwing around with Jimmy's dads gun. Kids that are around guns, and are trained with them rarely have accidents. Its even more rare for them to use in a criminal manner. Why cant open your mind beyond what they tell you on TV?

Each year, more than 20,000 children and youth under age 20 are killed or injured by firearms in the United States. The lethality of guns, as well as their easy accessibility to young people, are key reasons why firearms are the second leading cause of death among young people ages 10 to 19. Only motor vehicle accidents claim more young lives
