Im not inspired by this..

Im younger than her and definitely im not making more than her but atleast im trying to..

Considering the fact that the 20000$ a month i make is almost equivalent to the 75000$ in USA in my country.

Moreover, hiring your friends? - BTDT - Thats a pretty lame idea which is gonna lead to her downfall.

PS: I aint fat and i aint gay..

What tells you she isn't trying to make more than what your goal is?

Jon you are completely wrong here. Myspace is here to stay, and so is her site. The fact is new 13 year olds will migrate to he site after her original users leave. The potential for whateverlife (dot)com is staggering and shows essentially no limits. Unlike some shitty pixel site where the growth is limited by the number of pixels myspace's growth is unrivaled, and unstoppable. If I could invest in her site I would. I would say it is worth between 16 to 50 million dollars for a buyout easily based on the revenue, growth, and potential.

...and this is why you don't have the cash to make a shitty investment. Because your valuation skills are in the crapper. Where the fuck did you get such a huge range like that from?

You should know better about traffic stats, especially the absolutely shitty traffic from Myspace that even Myspace themselves have to sell for super cheap CPM rates because it's so horrible in the ROI/coversions area for their advertisers. Wow, look at her accomplishments. She made custom HTML profiles with blinky and sparkling shit and gave it out for free. Big fucking woop! Myspace is here to stay, yeah, I agree, but to an extent.

Anyone remember this one ISP named AOL back in the 90's? I'll bet no one saw them disbanding from being an ISP or going to 100% ad generated revenue back then. Sure, AOL is still around, still gets millions of users a month, but are they as powerful or in control? Fuck no. Myspace is nowhere near the level of AOL, and Myspace's trend is actually on the decline. Will it totally fizzle out? Nah. But you know what's really fucking great, is that you're saying she isn't depending on anyone or anything but her own site, well, what would she do if Myspace one day decided.. "alright everyone, we're going to be providing you with the free tools and templates to customize your piece of shit profiles from our site without going to any other site, and because we have SO much damn cash laying around not doing anything, we're also going to create a news, trends, fashion, shopping, etc for girls -- we're launching it tomorrow". BOOM. That's how fast Myspace can kill her site off, it's traffic sources, it's income, and her future as a deciding voice in the space. Poof. Seriously, just like that.

I'd love to see your rebuttle now.

Yeah, I also think it's a little foolish to assume that myspace will be the same power player that they are today. Look at all the press that Facebook is getting right now; and frankly I know quite a few people that are migrating over to it. And after Facebook will be something else, and after that will be something else, etc.

Talk to the Friendster guy if you think that Myspace will be around forever and be the strong player it is today. They MIGHT, but odds are they'll hit a market saturation and that'll be it.

I derive the 16-50 M valuation from the growth and potential of whateverlife.

If it makes 70K a month at a growth rate of 10% a month that is over 1M in revenue a year. But since its monthly revenue is growing at 10% a month its revenue will double in less than a year. I am basing the 10% monthly growth rate on the growth rate of myspace.

If facebook is worth 2.5-3 billion with 200M in projected 2008 revenues that is a 12.5x yearly premium. Facebook is worth 12.5 future yearly revenue.

Whateverlife is projected to make 2M in 2008 which would give it a valuation of 25 million based on the previous metric for web 2.0 type companies.

Do keep in mind whaeverlife generates exceedingly high profit margins since there is no infrastructure and no advertising costs and very few employees. It is a cash printing business.

Almost all large social networking sites have shitty CPM rates but that doesn't mean they can't make a lot of revenue provided they get enough traffic as is the case of myspace, facebook, and youtube.

Myspace has already developed its own layout codes and templates but it really hasn't gotten anywhere. Myspace isn't promoting it heavily. It is just an obscure link on the profile edit page.

Whateverlife can and already has branched out beyond myspace. It could easily begin broadcasting videos like youtube for example.

Sorry Jon but you're wrong this time.

breen Jon isn't wrong. you are wrong. how is making templates for little girls "web 2.0" (just she has a nice design? lmfao dude thats not web 2.0 stop reading into the hype and see real web 2.0) i think you need to stop reading techcrunch and look at the real picture. a valuation is a valuation. (YOUR valuation). the only bid so far for the site is a mere 1m$ ..) you cannot put 12.5 facebook multiple on this non-sensical site because thats like comparing apples and oranges. aslo if facebook made $10m next year would you pay $1bn (100x multiple), are u looking at just revenue? what about brand and growth? when was the last time you heard about whateverlife.. say compared to its traffic competitors such as CNBC or FDA.gov? yeah i thought so.

the site is enjoying a -6% decrease in traffic monthly, so your 10% growth is not here.

also whateverlife.com doesnt have a real product of their own they make money from. their users are from myspace and their advertisers are syndicated, they depend on others a lot, no one will pay so high for that shit, lmao.

and look at how many other myspace sites are doing the same traffic as her:
Compete - SnapShot of freecodesource.com, myspacemaster.net, pimp-my-profile.com

and many more.

I gave a range of 16M to 50M. 1M is far too low. What is unique about whateverlife is its huge userbase which can be used for various marketing purposes, and its revenue (which is essentially all profit). It isn't just about layouts. A huge company like microsoft could easily snag whateverlife for 16M to improve its social networking presence.

What's to stop myspace from creating their own layouts directory? The site would instantly be useless.

Ok, to conclude the story, I would fuck her, but only if she buys me PlayStation 3...

In response to productionhead:

Looks like EVERYONE is making bagillions of dollars today and should be in Fast Company.

I think the fact is that FC made a bad decision to give this girl press, but on the flipside, look at how much debate and discussion is going on. That's why companies write articles! So, their linkbait worked on us.

Lesson learned, lol. Don't mind me, I'm just going to wander over to the YoungEntrepreneur forums and write about 15 year old fat douchebags making bank.

"Sorry for going off at this, but back in the dotcom round 1.0 in the late 90's there were SO many of these "brilliant kids" and now NONE of them are around. Wanna know why? Because it was all hype. "

I know one kid that is still around, and makes more now than when he started, Scott Lynn. Been making bank since he was 13, started TreeLoot, then Virtumundo, and now adKnowledge. So I wouldn't say all kids have gone nowhere.

And so what if she only lasts a year or two in the biz, if she banks most of the money she makes, she'll be financially comfortable anyway, and isn't that the reason any of us do this shit in the first place?

Nice headline.
Asshole.
buried because you called her fat. get some class. good story regardless.
Sir, You are an ass.
ROFL. She isn't even that big. You suck for the title. I am digging cause the story is ace.
And my favorite:
does it matter if she is fat?

Wow, people are bunch of politically correct douche bags these days. The best thing is that I can actuality imagine pompous fat bitch with nothing better to do at her period period then using "sir" in her comments. The only reason they are stabbing their keyboard with their big sticky fingers, as we in Croatia like to call them "ćevapi", is the fact that they are larger then two rhinos doing dirty sanchez...
