I have no idea, I'm not a geologist.
However, logic dictates in order for the Earth to experience an ice age, it can't get radiation from the sun.
Your logic is wrong.

Dear Sun,
Please stop emitting excessive solar radiation so Matt can relax and not worry about rising sea levels and a deteriorating atmosphere.
I understand this is a natural cycle recorded numerous times over thousands of years but in the current state of knee jerk "eco-activism", this behavior on your part will no longer be acceptable.
Please return your solar output levels similar to the Little Ice Age so I can listen to a different set of "oh noez" for the next half century before I die.
Sincerely,
Grind
P.S. Bro, do you even science?
And what was the cause of the reversal of the 4 other major ice ages?
Bro do you even wikipedia Ice age - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
And while we're at it:

Asteroids crashing into the Earth, kicking up debris, blocking the sun. That tends to seem more plausible than the sun turning on / off, or the sun and Earth changing distance from each other.
Prove it. Inb4 climategate.
It seems like there's enough empirical evidence to support the basic theory.
1. We raise CO2 levels.
2. CO2 traps heats.
3. So the planet accumulates heat.
I'm not one to go through tons of research papers because I'm not a scientist. But I think that this theory is one of the most accepted among scientists, because of how much evidence there is to support it. Sure, not all of scientists are at a "consensus" on it, but that only happens when all the scientists stop arguing. Do you not believe in evolution because there's a "missing link?" Well what about all the other "links" that have been discovered.

a free market would be able to combat climate change far more efficiently than any government could.
So you think there wouldn't be any demand to stop flooded coastal cities, monthly cat-5 hurricanes and 10-year long droughts?Only if it wanted to. The market caters to demand.
the sun and Earth changing distance from each other.
The earths temperatures have never remained stable at any point throughout history. Never. The industrial revolution was 200 years ago, so how do you explain the same warming/cooling cycles throughout the rest of history?

No.The free market caters to the majority.
