Dear Sun,

Please stop emitting excessive solar radiation so Matt can relax and not worry about rising sea levels and a deteriorating atmosphere.

I understand this is a natural cycle recorded numerous times over thousands of years but in the current state of knee jerk "eco-activism", this behavior on your part will no longer be acceptable.

Please return your solar output levels similar to the Little Ice Age so I can listen to a different set of "oh noez" for the next half century before I die.

Sincerely,

Grind

P.S. Bro, do you even science?

To say that we're going through just another "cycle" would be the same as saying humans can't start forest fires, because they happened naturally before humans existed. Climate changes to whatever force causes it to change. This time around it's humans.

And what was the cause of the reversal of the 4 other major ice ages?

And while we're at it:

"..Okay thats cool and alll but dont ever comment on my status telling me that i am wrong everrrr again. I didnt ask you did i? Answer: NO.."

Lol, this has meme potential. This reaction from that stupid bitch is why we're rapidly descending into idiocracy and also why women shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Asteroids crashing into the Earth, kicking up debris, blocking the sun. That tends to seem more plausible than the sun turning on / off, or the sun and Earth changing distance from each other.

Whatever did or didn't happen, the sun does vary in intensity and the planets' orbits are not constant.

Prove it. Inb4 climategate.

It seems like there's enough empirical evidence to support the basic theory.

1. We raise CO2 levels.
2. CO2 traps heats.
3. So the planet accumulates heat.

I'm not one to go through tons of research papers because I'm not a scientist. But I think that this theory is one of the most accepted among scientists, because of how much evidence there is to support it. Sure, not all of scientists are at a "consensus" on it, but that only happens when all the scientists stop arguing. Do you not believe in evolution because there's a "missing link?" Well what about all the other "links" that have been discovered.

Matt's post killed my lengthy boring response, he's right, I have work to do. Bastard.

I'll just leave you with this: do read the research papers, and then also look up who funded that particular research project. Follow the money, there's usually an agenda. Unless it's government funded, those fuckers don't care, they'll just print more.

Sigh.

WF Climage Change argument, Take 52... Action!

You climate-change-denying pansies make me sad. For years & years scientists said "earth's getting warmer" and you fought it tooth and nail.

Now the proof is overwhelming and you caved in like cowards to this truth, but still don't like the ramifications and now claim: "but that doesn't mean WE did it."

BUT WHO THE FUCK CARES????

It almost doesn't fucking matter how this happened. (Yeah I guess we need to pinpoint the source to fight it but whatever...) What matters here is that it is happening and we have got to do something to stop it... Yet you fuckers just sit there and say "Hey, not my problem, I didn't do it!"

Well if that's your final answer, then let's hope you don't have any offspring... Because they're going to curse your name like you wouldn't believe since you wouldn't lift a finger to stop the absolute HELL that is ramping up for them as we speak.

PS... Some of you are going to think I'm advocating government control here to combat the problem. This is not the case, a free market would be able to combat climate change far more efficiently than any government could.

Milankovitch cycles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The earths temperatures have never remained stable at any point throughout history. Never. The industrial revolution was 200 years ago, so how do you explain the same warming/cooling cycles throughout the rest of history?

Science never suggested that increases in CO2 are/were the only driver of temperature cycles.

According to the data, recent warming trends go beyond what would be expected to typically occur under natural cycles. We expect a home to be warmer in the spring "cycle" than in the winter, but that doesn't mean we can't use a heater to make it even warmer. And using a heater in the spring doesn't necessarily mean that nature on its own couldn't make a home warmer in the summer.

What does past climate change tell us about global warming?

So you think there wouldn't be any demand to stop flooded coastal cities, monthly cat-5 hurricanes and 10-year long droughts?

I did not state the market wouldn't demand it, I simply stated the market caters to demand. As you can see in this thread (if this thread is a good reflection of the market), "the market" is not giving too many shits about your thoughts on global warming.

I simply thought it was funny seeing you argue against the majority on your thoughts about global warming and then stating something to the effect of "The free market would fix this".

The free market caters to the majority. The free market fixes only the problems for which there are demand.

The free market caters to the majority.
No.

I agree with the rest of your post though.

All this drama about global warming is mostly to push some political agenda and a small part is probably a few companies trying to profit from it.

There are far more important things to worry about. War mongering countries that could wipe out most of humanity with a few nuclear bombs for example.
