Blacks receive welfare is extreme disproportion to whites.
This disproportion is so great that more blacks are on welfare than whites, despite being only 13% of the population.

Pretty sure we had this in FL - and it cost the State more to implement and test than it saved in catching people who were on drugs & welfare...

We still have this as far as I know and our awesome governor owns (or at least owned, he may have sold off) a large share of the company does the testing.
Surely a more accurate way to look at it would be to compare welfare recipients by ethnicity and compare that against the entire population by ethnicity? How can someone claim to be living in poverty in a first world country and not be claiming welfare?Facts:

I think at most it will break even, I'm sure the reality is though that it will run a 250-750k deficit. I think this time it was more about getting people off drugs and back to work, which is fair enough in my book.

Some people beat drug tests so that they can make millions of dollars doing something they love. Other people beat drug tests so that they can buy liquor with food stamps.
Floridas law is being blocked by the courts right now and likely wont survive.

None of these drug testing for welfare laws will survive because its an invasion of privacy.
Michigan did this in 99 and it was ultimately ruled unconstitutional.
Besides I don't think it will make any difference and would cost us more money than it would save.

Like everything else concerning this bogus War on Drugs it's all politically motivated. Look at Cali, bleeding money from dispensing welfare to their "undocumented workers" and their offspring that they shoot out every year, but the government looks the other way for their political cronies, it's all politics.
Clearly, some of you dislike the idea of welfare, or at least disapprove of the way the welfare system is currently operated.

I'd add a good dash of self responsibility and pull back on the bleeding heart neo liberal rhetoric initially.
Once that's been left to rise for a bit, I'd replace welfare completely with private insurance.
Either that, or simply withdraw the productive members from society for 6 months and see how things look then.
