Receipt Scanner?

Neat receipts /thread

Really bad reviews, looked into them a number of times. Bad interface with Mac, etc. Also not compact/mobile really. Thanks bros.

Edit: just saw they have a mobile one now, nice. Still a lot of shitty reviews though on Amazon IMO. e.g.:

Not a bad idea - does that app have a way of easily getting them onto a computer though aside from emailing or something?

Not sure if you're familiar with Xero, but it's an online accounting service. So when you can enter an expense into their iPhone app and it'll ask you to take a picture of the receipt, then it stores that on their server and adds the expense to your account. I don't actually use it yet, but I'm planning to soon.

Ahh, nah, had no idea what it was. I use Outright for accounting and they have an iPhone app that does the exact same thing, but I'm kind of looking for a more simple/direct way of just having raw scans/images, thanks for elaborating though.

I use the Expensify app for scanning and expense organization. For raw scanning on the fly - Camscanner is the shit.

Considered something like this but I reallllly fucking hate paper, the less there is the happier I am.

I hear you, and I'm the same way. I just have all my shit constantly printed or taped to paper and filed immediately. that way when the end of the year comes, all my numbers are correct from my software, receipts are categorized and in chronological order. If i ever get audited, it'll look really good. "This guy was on the ball." I should never get audited though, because I"m on the ball.

I have seen the ScanSnap S1300 recommended a few times before. I read that you can have it scan straight into Evernote.

The ScanSnap S1100 is smaller/more portable.

That has to be it then, nice. Thanks for the reminder.

Was just checking out Expensify and Camscanner, testing these out now.
