My first and only time trying adderal was wasted - I smoked a few bowls afterward and ended up spending several hours going through the old Bump When High thread.

Just took Ritalin earlier this morning... As prescribed so it's not GOD-mode or anything, but it helps a ton... Very nice calming effect on me.

But it does make music feel like this:

Screw that syntetic stuff. Why don't you just take amphetamine straight up? Or are the laws that harsh that it's too dangerous?

I once used some amphetamine diet pill. Was very effective. Didn't feel hungry for an entire day but threw up three times during sports practice. Turns out not eating for a day and doing strenous excercise isn't healthy.

I'm an advocate of weed, but I cannot smoke or use it myself... It doesn't work for everyone...
 
Problem is that when you really get going on it you think that the massive complex spider web of issues you are solving/creating all night/day/night/day make absolutely no sense when you are sober.

That sucks, it gives me energy, I talk a lot more, I can't smoke before bed because I just lay there thinking of all kinds of shit all night. I also just take a puff at a time, rather than smoking a whole joint or bowl I just use a 1 hitter.

It's also the best mood enhancer I've found. At work you can get all wound up by some comment someone makes, or some manager being a dick, and it eats at you all day, then get home, take a toke, and within 5 min have "resolved" it in your head and move on with your day.

I'm the same way. When I smoke it I'm too paranoid to leave the house, too lazy to do anything productive and it makes me awkward around people.

I'll rarely smoke it if I want to be lazy or need help going to sleep.

It affects most people I know who smoke like this. I know a lot of writers who can't write without it. I'm the opposite, if I smoke I'm worthless for the rest of the day.

That's how I felt when I used to smoke. After several years of smoking almost daily I got to where I can't smoke without feeling paranoid, anxious, and lazy (beyond normal stoner laziness) - regardless of strain or sativa/indica. Enjoy this while you can.

You'll find that after a couple weeks off weed, without going through the daily morning withdrawal cycle, you won't need weed to resolve small issues like this - because they won't be issues. When you're a smoker, nothing makes you more irritable and agitated as not being high. If you're unable to let a person's comments roll off you - and especially if they eat at you all day - without having to cool off with a quick toke, then you need to consider quitting weed. I only say this because I wish I had thought about this years ago.

I'm not against MJ or anything (I was one of the few die-hard bumpers of our bump when high thread), but you never realize how fake the "calm" MJ brings you is until you distance yourself from it.

If I could go back in time I would stop myself from smoking daily, or even weekly - it ruined weed for me. I would only smoke once or twice a month for the creativity boost.

This same lesson could be applied to anything - use in moderation. Especially stimulants like adderral - you get to where you can't function normally without them, then spend several months in sober depression trying to get back to "normal".
