So, I'm on my way to TX now to deliver some new equipment to a company I do some consulting for.

I'm going to be hanging around the well site for a few days while this new gear gets brought online, and I was wondering what the hell is worth doing in TX?

I'll mostly be in West TX, but I've got a few things to take care of in Houston as well before I head back home.

I've been through TX lots of times, but it's been totally unmemorable to me, and I'd like to change that...that place is too big to not leave an impression.

Gay Webmasters with Lone Star experience...get in here.

NASA Space Science Center is pretty cool in Houston, although might not be very good if you're by yourself.

They have a pretty decent zoo, if you like animals.

if you're hanging around the well for a few days you got to go cow tippin, oh yeah and big tex is good for a steak as well. crazy how many people try it

Whatever you do, don't step on anything that looks like:

They will wait until they all get on your leg, then they will all sting at the same time.

Awww all I know is the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

i lived in a loft downtown dallas for a couple of years... the whole area is riddled with plastic mall-style bars, panhandlers & worn-out hookers. i worked on the 32nd floor of renaissance tower & we'd all hold daily bets on how high the swirling grocery bags would get. the hawks would take out pigeons midair causing a spray of cigarette butts.

EDIT: alright that last bit was a lie, never saw a spray of cigarette butts. i just told myself that at the time because it was more pleasant than imagining the bloody cigarette butts you'd see on the streets were from AIDS ridden hookers putting them out in their lesions.

LMAO ok fine fine, Dallas is a shithole in most places. BUT Fort Worth is pretty. There are lots of Texas-y things to do... hell I think the rodeo there is fun. If you are traveling alone the cowboy bar scene in downtown Fort Worth (stockyards) is a good time. Like 30 bars all within a couple of blocks. Very Texas.

True Story:

I once went to a rock climbing class (a few times actually)

I saw a chick doing the exact same thing on Ice's pics. I can't personally do it, since my nerdy chicken arms would probably just snap out of the sockets.

In any case, she fell from a distance not to high. She put her arm out. It did snap like a toothpick. A toothpick that makes a loud sound like breaking a piece of wood that echoed through the place causing a slowing of time between the sound and her first cry of pain. It was weird seeing how it looked like her arm had two elbows and was bent in a totally unnatural shape. I can still remember the dick head paramedic that didn't want to give her morphine since it was 'too strong'.

I miss the years when I was young and crazy.

I miss the years when I was young and crazy.

i've tumbled off the direct front of a speedboat at 50 mph; i got baglock on my very first solo skydiving effort & freefell 6000' until my emergency deployed with line-twist and sent me spinning down into traffic on a public street; i got sucked into a hydraulic for 30+ seconds in WV rafting the gauley river during high season.

all memorable moments. some good, some bad, glad i had 'em. except the boat thing, that was just fucking stupid.
