I remember reading his post originally and wondering how long it would take you to respond to it.

Excellent hack. Very well thought out post.

It makes me wonder why so many people are promoting and writing these "studies" on it where they say how great it is.

Is it just for the affiliate link?

Honestly it feels as if all of these people are part of some gentleman's club and they basically promote their own products to the 'masses' regardless of the actual usefulness.

No product has shortcomings to them.

you know... till today even the stats or the dashboard didnt worked... and they write about how cool it is... you're prolly right, those fucks just want to be the first one who gets the traffic signed up under them to get the most traffic if it goes real "public". that prolly means every stupid blogger.com user embeds it.

It does seem like every 4 or 5 months one of these guys in this circle of "gurus" puts out or endorses the next monster traffic machine... And every time it takes the fanboys about 4-5 weeks before they realize... Oh ... hey ... I'm in a traffic pyramid scheme. Der.

i wonder if that john reese guys speaks like he writes. one big sales pitch. it fucking pissed me off, ! everywhere, too much bold and italic! Shit.

Pax that would be hilarious.

You: Hey Reese, how are you?

Reese: START BOLD Hello Friend By Saying Hi To Me You Are On Your Way To MASSSIVE, TRAGETED Traffic in 5 MINUTES That Will BLOW AWAY YOUR COMPETITION And Create PROFIT Out Of Thin Air END BOLD

He shares absolutely no number on how many people have signed up using BR, but does say that it is the fastest exploding marketing-related tool he has EVER witnessed in his 15 years of marketing.

50% of the affiliate marketing blogs in my RSS subscriptions posted something about it. I got an email from them too, no big surprise.

Forget all the technical exploits, bloggers can put the damn thing anywhere on their site they want. Who the fuck cares about impressions? From an optimized design standpoint, its done pretty poorly as well. I noticed quite a few blog post titles cut off and ended with ... The black border will kill headline clickthroughs, just like borders do with Adsense.

I was going to make a critical blog bost simply because everyone was rehashing the email invite, but I'll pass. It is an ok idea.. just needs a lot more work. As for it being a pyramid, hell, what isn't?

To be honest I think he chose that design because it mimics the Iphone and creates some sort of connection with users when they see it. Along the lines of "AHA it looks cool like the Iphone, need to install it" so he basically transfered the emotions from the Iphone over to this widget.

We'll see how far that gets him though ;)

Widgets are so 2 months ago. I'm fuckin sick of these "Hype" blogs where the bloggers take turns coming out with some piece of shit then having a circle jerk to promote it. Somehow every once in awhile, some stupid company comes along and buys their unsustained and inflated stats for a few million dollars. I think the definition of marketing should be: Fooling Idiots. Luckily for our pockets, there are so many more idiots than people with brains. Shit, even most of these famous bloggers are complete idiots that were somehow designated the leader by their idiot peers because they were the best at bragging about shit they didn't even have yet. Many still don't.

Rocking Tobsn!

But when I see the word "exploit" I expect some traffic. But funny nonetheless.

Research like this is what keeps these assholes honest and closes them down. Keep us posted if their system tries to deliver more traffic to you, but somehow I doubt it.
