Also what do you guys tell people at cocktail parties when they inevitably ask, " and what do you do...?" (also after explaining what you do, any tips on how you get people to stop looking at you like:eek7: ? )

Since I am into domaining and site flipping mainly, I prefer to say that I am into Private Equity business and we focus on Internet Businesses. :p That helps me when I am amidst dark suits.

When I am talking to chicks -- I run a media production company and we have ONLINE CHANNELS. ;)

TO everyone else, I am into software business.

And when I actually meet someone in the industry, they understand what I am talking about.

I try to convince Google that XYZ website is the most relevant for whatever query.

I usually just say ecommerce websites or something.

I get alot of eye rolls if I say Affiliated or Internet Marketing. For some odd reason they hear, "Pyramid Scheme".
 
Fuck.. this has just reminded me. Need to get some cards sorted for AS next week. Can see me leaving it last minute, finding that machine in town is no longer there and havin to do a DIY job...
