I would like to be able to for example alt click on an application shortcut and then have it open in my selected alternative/secondary application.

For example if I open a jpeg file. Most of the time I want to open it in Windows Photo Viewer, but often I want to alternatively open it in Photoshop.

Just for quick workflows sake, I wonder if there's a way to set this up. Either in windows natively or with the help of an application.

Anyone know of a way to do this?

You understand my question wrong, I was not asking about a long winded way to do that, I was asking about a way to open it by alt clicking the shortcut.

First right clicking and then looking in that menu to locate and click the alternative program is kind of a long winded process compared to just alt clicking it and having it launch in your selected alternative application immediately without fidgeting around in a right click menu.

you can set up a hotkey then: AutoHotkey
