This is just a story of what happened to me recently

Remember i posted here about selling an eCig site a while ago?

If not, I was earning $400-$700 a day average last few weeks before selling.

Well I sold the site to a major procrastinator for $12k.

A former programmer for Microsoft who knew the risks.. he had to get high risk merchant processing to continue business (hence my selling it) but could try Gumroad meantime.

To make it OBVIOUS a winner of a project for him(but after 4 months from sales date), once he set up GumRoad sales buttons he made $5k revenue ( ~75% profit ) in less than a full month b/c the trendy niche was still rising, though competition increased.

Well GumRoad cut him off , and in 5 months he did not secure merchant processing... Site is sitting dead now another 5 months later.

Has anybody ever fumbled a project this bad?

SomeGoodE: If you are still interested and think you can make it a winner again - don't be adverse to buy the site back.

I did this recently for a VA of mine who had to sell a site due to being in a bit of a financial crunch. The other party did a great job for a month and then didn't do squat for the next 12. All stats pretty much went into the dumps due to this 'not caring'.

Contacted the buyer, told him it would fit in my portfolio and bought the site back for less then 1/3 of the original sales price. Buyer got some money out of a stalled project and we got a site back that we KNOW we can bring it back to its former glory. My VA was ecstatic since it was a project that was very personal to them.

You don't know him, his life, his priorities, etc...

I know for a fact many of us here have spent that much or more and have never touched the project or domains because other things came up or required our attention instead. Hell, I've personally purchased sites ran them into the ground by doing 0 and then sold them back to the original owner who wanted to get it up and going again.

I think he didn't want to worry about the high risk merchant account processing that he didn't have yet, and subsequently dropped the price because he knew the new owner would have to get it.

The $7000 difference between what he paid and what he made could be less than the opportunity cost of another project he has.

Why do you care, honestly, what he does with HIS website? You no longer own it. You're not paying him to manage it. So, why does it matter?

I flip sites regularly. Site/Project was not aged........... i needed a lump sum... sold it....

I've been more focused on building a YouTube network

payments were taken via Paypal until they changed their policy to put eCigs into tobacco and crap.. they were just electronics at first.

Then I used Amazon. Amazon allowed me but warned so I knew then it was time to sell to someone who had HRMA.

I came here asking about the HRMA and people gave a little help but i realized I wasn't looking to make it such a long-term structured business, so I just sold it.
