Lower population density correlates with higher suicide rates, and I would assume that those areas have less "liberal" school teachers.
"Feeling lonely" and such is one of the reasons cited for why people contemplate suicide.
Black people are more likely to live in urban areas, so the average black literally has X number more potential people per square mile to interact with than the national average, and especially more than for people in a place like high suicide Alaska. Also, within Alaska itself the rural rate is over double the urban.

Alaska is actually one of the more multicultural states. Even Todd Palin is part Eskimo - and according Sarah it causes them to have to deal with racism, or something like that.
