HTC One all the way. You won't bring it back :)

Battery life, no problems at all. When at the office/home, switch on wifi and it will conserve less battery (like every other phone). Unlike other phones though, I'm sometimes able to go for 2+ days without charging.

Also guys, try switching the power saver setting off and try it a few days. See if it can go longer. It can. From what I recall reading somewhere, that setting basically caps the CPU at 3/4 or so of its capacity - when isolated, that saves power. In the hands of an average phone user with a bunch of different apps though, it actually has the opposite effect because those apps, in turn, are forced to occupy the CPU longer.

The battery life is great. The phone is awesome.

Todd, since you're coming from an Iphone this is probably news to you...

If you don't like that spacebar, you can get a different keyboard from the Play Store. Swiftkey and Swype are my favorite. You might find that you like them better than stock.

+1 for swift key. My biggest complaint aside from the S4's size was the lame keyboard. I found out about swiftkey and my life is better now. I still dislike my S4 though.

I just got an S4 last week. So far, I'm happy with it. It's not as polished as the iphone, but it's better for what I use it for.

I've tried a number of phones and none of them made me happy until they were rooted. Once rooted, at the very least, install Titanium Backup and freeze or delete all the carrier bloat, install AdAway to get rid of in-app ads, then install Greenify to hibernate apps until you need them. This all requires a little homework, but you'd be amazed at the performance and battery life increase.

Bought s4 a month ago and loving it. Battery life is nice as usually I have mobile data off. We don't have HTC one available here in the part of the world where I reside. Further I have just seen HTC one hype on wickedfire and no one in my country even recognize it. May be check the market share of HTC one among smartphones.

Hope you're kidding? I bought an HTC in 2009 (ahmedabad, India)
It was most probably the first HTC android handset in Indian market & bought for 21k INR. I STILL use that phone brah, with the original battery that lasts for 24 hours with one full recharge.

I'll be getting the HTC One this diwali, or better the HTC One MAX if its out by that time.

You are the first one I came to know in entire India owning and loving HTC phones. You also better know yourself that Samsung has better market in entire India than HTC. We barely see exclusive cafe's of HTC in India whereas Samsung is everywhere.

Further HTC's market share is falling globally:-

Its not about market share, bro. Maruti has a better market share in India but that doesnt mean its better than Hyundai or Honda? I'm all for quality. I wouldnt touch Samsung phones considering their shitty plastic feel. In fact I was getting myself an iphone in 2009 when I bought an HTC as a gift for my bro & said to myself that this shit is better than iphone & ended up with an HTC myself. We've been using both the HTCs since 4+ years now without a single repair & that pretty much speaks about the quality.

Do you buy a phone for feeling plastic or using it for your purpose? Here we are not talking about Maruti vs Honda. We are discussing here about market leaders. Everyone knows Samsung is market leader of android devices.

Let me tell you I wasn't interested to buy s4 either but then I haven't had any better options so I have to end up buying s4 than waiting for next Samsung phone. You are fooling yourself by saying in smartphone markets (NOT Maruti vs Honda) HTC is better. s4 pretty much solves my purpose and I love it. I can't comment on how HTC works vs s4 as I never seen a HTC one yet. In the end everyone has their own choice.

Had HTC One, Sony Xperia S and a Samsung S3 (which I have now).

Samsung is better to use but feels so damn horrible. Bad plasticy feeling, always manages to slip out of my hand and I do find it just a bit too big. But it is the best phone for usability without a doubt.

HTC One was second best phone and has nice casing.

Sony was the worst phone but I liked it the most.

So, just shows how pointless comparing phones are really. I'll be getting Sony again next time.

Just got the Samsung 4 and I am pleased with it. Yeah, it's a little larges but I like the big screen.

HTC one works like charm(Best at photos and HD videos) and it is better than Samsung, windows phone sucks...

Have you owned a Windows Phone or are you just on the "microsoft sucks" bandwagon?

Phones with Windows Mobile sucked in my opinion, but Windows Phone seems like a very good OS to me. I have been using it since last December with no issues.
