We give out $300 Adwords coupons so clients can try it out along with our normal SEO if they are so inclined.

One of our clients applied the coupon ran it for a bit then we paused it on the 28th as the big push was over on the 27th. We specifically made sure this campaign was off. NO ONE turned it back on.

The client's consultant logs in today and the big G applied their coupon (fucking late of course) turned the campaign on banged through the coupon balance and started raping my clients credit card for ads pointed towards an unoptimized old page.

Is there any way to get a refund or are we just going to get shafted?
 


Same thing happened to me. 9 clicks for $xx CPCs went through my $100 voucher pretty fast. Luck to have caught it when I did.
 
I just got ad's banned from there due to using trademark words (iphone) - so I applied to use them with Apple and was approved, Google tell me that I would have to re-create the ads as the disapproved ads would not run.

However I check my states today and the ads are up and running my CC is being hit..... watch out bro's. They are sneaky fucks.
 
If its my personal stuff whatever. Don't fuck with my clients though.

They mail me all this fucking swag and invites etc to get me to pitch Adwords to my clients then they turn around and attempt to fuck the same clients over and leave me holding the steaming pile of dog excrement.

I get PAID search traffic from G, and I don't even run ads. I had like 4-5 old accounts, all are turned off.. And have a new CC now, no idea how this is happening..

But other people on WF have mentioned the same thing happening, with ads running randomly.

Sorry dude - Your screwed. Anyone who has been using Adwords long enough has shot themselves from time to time. No matter the experience level.

They offered us a partial value courtesy credit contingent on some investigation. The client is contacting their CC company.
 
I got fucked too. I got these $100 codes that only apply if you spend over $25 in a month. I have spent way more than that and none of them gave me that free $100 credit. Funding is still all coming out of my cc. Good luck getting ahold of someone at Google to fix this kind of shit.

Not only do I have a MCC account full of clients, but I typically run through about $200k+ a month in spend for them

I haven't got shit from Adwords regarding coupons or vouchers or any swag at all for them.
 
My adwords account is dormant, but an old old ad created years ago still runs on $0.01 credit. It only get 1/2 impressions a day, and maybe 2 or 3 clicks a month, but for some reason it doesn't ever pause (theres no CC tied to it, either). I'm sure the moment I want to use it for something it'll break that ad, but I still find it a little odd :)
 
Does adwords allow you to use the temporary CC that you can get from banks like BOA? That might be the safest bet but I'm willing to bet they dont

I find that surprising. We have next to no Adwords spend and we get party invites, Google branded business card holders, tons of online coupons as well as stacks of coupons mailed to the office.

Clearly all this shit was meant for you.

I think what you need is Google Engage (its now 'Google Partners'), it's aimed at agencies and they used to (no sure if they still do) send out plenty of vouchers to give to 'clients'. Vouchers are only good if used within 14 days of first campaign running in a new account from memory.

I just found it amazing all you people were getting shit and all I ever got was a poster and mini fridge from all the years I spent money with them. This though was YEARS ago.

Getting cash back on my rewards cards is "voucher" or "coupon" enough for me honestly, but it would be nice to maybe snag some cool swag.

I use the business card holder. It is pretty neat to whip it out and have clients go "Oh where did you get that?"

You then pause for effect and say.....

"Google sent it to me."

Boom. SEO Deal Closed.
 
They banged me a while back too...ad gets paused whilst being reviewed for 4 fuckin days...and they are pumping traffic to it for that time without me being able to stop/change/optimize anything. Called the fuckers on it....and they said that yes it was an error but they couldnt reverse the charges...and to go ahead and charge it back...but that i would be banned.

Fuck you adwords!
