An F-35 fighter jet only has 240,000 lines of code?
I'm absolutely fucken certain that's accurate.
“The committee continues to support the F-35 development and procurement program, and believes a software development review by the Department will ensure that the F-35 program remains on schedule to provide a fifth generation capability in support of our national security strategy,” the Congressional language states.
The JSF program developmental strategy is, in part, grounded upon a series of incremental software “drops” — each one adding new capability to the platform. According to here it's more like 10 Billion. Although the infographic says 24 million not 240k.
Look again man. It's about 24 million.
Would be interesting if GTA 5 was included.
Look again man. It's about 24 million.
I find that just about as hard to believe. You'd have to write over 270,000 lines of code a day for 100 years. There would have to be thousands of programmers working on such a project.
While infographics are nice, you can pretty much make anything up and people will believe it.
