There is only one thing we can do.The system is fucked, and we all know it, but there's nothing we can do about it, so it's better to just not think about it. It's shitty to say - it sounds defeatist, and it is - but what are we supposed to do?

I feel bad for all the peasants paying 30+% taxes. I think I paid about 3% last year
I don't get it.

Speak for yourself, gingerboy.
Where have you been for the last 12 years? While you might not be in an official "war" as declared by congress, you've been at war since 9/11 and you've been involved in some sort of warfare on and off (more on than off) for the last century. A recent study by Harvard reckons $4-$6 trillion will have been spent on Iraq and Afghanistan when it's all over. The $200 billion mentioned in that pie chart above is a laughable figure.
And you wonder where your money is going? It's being spent half way around the world bombing the crap out of people and then paying them to "rebuild".
Or how about the "war on drugs"? There's another trillion dollars down the crapper.
Where was the Tea Party during the Bush years?
Psst... You can't blame the black president when you talk about defense spending stupid.
LOL besides if you listen to these clowns in this thread you'd think Obama created taxes. Where was the Tea Party during the Bush years?
For Canada, it's healthcare + roads + rough winters damaging everything. This country is too big and costs a lot to run it from coast to coast... to coast (north).
But again, France... I don't get it. 75 fucking percent.
